Great Stay

Apr 15th, 2020

Priorities: Clean ✔️Quite ✔️. Stayed twice coming and leaving El Chaten. Both rooms were very nice. Larger, much larger , than expected. Spectacular views. Very comfortable , well appointed rooms with many extra amenities. Location can’t be beat. Staff very helpful and courteous. Had several very nice meals in their restaurant, with excellent service as well. Breakfast was extensive with cooked entries, fresh fruit and baked couldn’t eat everything you wanted. We will stay there again when we return. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good location

Mar 14th, 2020

Lovely views over lake from an elevated position. Short walk through park to shops, restaurants. Hotel also had good food and drink options. Would stay there again as accommodation on Main Street didn’t have any views. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A comfortable place in El Calafate

Mar 10th, 2020

The six of us stayed 5 nights at Esplendor. The rooms and bed were modern and comfortable. Our view rooms afforded us with great views of the town below and Lake Argentinas and surrounding mountains in the distance. Our rooms on the top floor were very warm during the height of summer; however, fans were available from the front desk. The breakfast was good with lots of fresh fruit, pastries, fresh squeezed juices and hot beverages. The hotel bar staff provided friendly service. The front desk staff was invaluable in securing a good driver and car to Fitz Roy after a tour company at the last minute cancelled our day trip. The front desk reserved seating at very good restaurants and was critical in recovering an item left on a tour bus. It is an easy walk to El Calafate’s Main Street from the hotel. We would gladly stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Esplendor it most certainly wasn't.

You arrive at the hotel which is set above Calafate and you think wow - great communal spaces reception/bar/restaurant/pool/spa and with great views over the town and lakes. Then you step in to your room and think blah - if only they had decorated the rooms the same way the communal spaces have been done. Our room was old/tired/dated and had a rubbish view into the rooms of the houses across the street. It was noisy at night and the windows didn't stop this. The toilet ran all night/day and although we asked reception to try and get this fixed nothing was done. The restaurant area is lovely, but the buffet breakfast was the worst we had during our entire Argentinian trip and the staff we encountered at breakfast were what I would call surly, not the most welcoming. The reception staff were lovely as were the bar staff. Overall I could not recommend this hotel unless they spend some money on refurbishing the bedrooms and making the windows double glazed to cut down on the noise. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
