Excellence el Carmen

If you're looking for an adults-only, all-inclusive resort with an abundance of amenities, you'll find that Excellence el Carmen delivers. Situated on the golden sands of Punta Cana's Uvero Alto beach, Excellence el Carmen boasts 23 pools, 12 restaurants (plus a food truck), 16 bars, a 4,000-square-foot fitness center and a full-service spa. (Keep in mind that a handful of the amenities are only available to members of the resort's Excellence Club.) Past visitors were blown away by the number of amenities, but they were especially impressed with the staff, who reviewers said made a point to get to know guests personally. The accommodations were another point of praise for past lodgers who appreciated the spacious layout. Starting at 800 square feet, suites come equipped with Jacuzzis for two, terraces, 46-inch flat-screen TVs and espresso makers. For an even more luxurious stay, guests can opt for one of the Excellence suites, which include in-room perks like plunge pools as well as access to additional pools and lounges reserved for the Excellence Club. Activities available to all guests range from dancing and cooking lessons to yoga and snorkeling – all included in your room standard rate. Though many travelers were pleased with the variety of on-site dining options, reviewers were divided about the quality of the nightly entertainment.
