A Majestic service of excellence

Mar 9th, 2020

After an amazing and nice taxi ride. I arrive at Hotel Exe Majestic. A 4 star hotel. Even it doesn’t look very glamorous, the welcome was very very warm! - How to get there? - Most easy is probably by taxi or own car. But if you want to come by public transport, the nearest subway station is Napoli Piazza Amadeo (note all stations are called Napoli first) from there it is just a 7 to 10 min walk to the hotel. SIDE NOTE! Please note that Naples doesn’t have any pedestrian crossing lights. In fact crossing the road goes on feel, it is very dangerous, please watch out when crossing the road, cars will not stop. - Reception/check-in - The entrance is easy accessible, so is the location of the reception. It just feels a little outdated, but still acceptable. I was welcomed very warmly by the receptionist, and check in went very smooth, professional and quickly. - Room - On the 5th floor room 505. Unlocking the door, would have been handy if the reception would have told me how. Since normally you open the door by card at the lock are of the door. However, such thing wasn’t at the door. Tough quickly I found out that unlocking the door, is actually by putting the card on the far left side of the door at the wall. Might have been handier if it was just at the door itself. A room not very big but clean and tidy. The view tough isn’t really exciting, looking at a wall of a building across. The room has a king size bed, a bath! Toilet and a bidet (luxurious). The bathroom is nice, tough it could use an upgrade since somehow it feels like half of the bathroom had had an upgrade and the other half didn’t. But maybe that is just Italian. The room itself is half cozy. It doesn’t feel very warm by interior. Some paintings or flowers would have been nice. But nevertheless quality again! An entire bowl of candy! And a very full stuffed mini fridge! (Side note, the mini fridge smelled very dirty, like there was growing mold) Only thing missing was a tea dispenser or hot water cooker. Would have been a nice adding. One of the negative points of the room, was the complexity of buttons. There were a stunning 27 buttons... now you would expect that it can’t be complex, but it was. Some buttons switch on and off multiple systems, but you have no clue which is doing what. Even when testing them all. There is even a metal screen (rolling down) at the window. Which have buttons everywhere, even at the side of your bed there are several buttons. The thing is only that the metal screen seemed broken, or at least very slow, because when pushing the buttons, nothing happens for about 5 seconds. The it will give you a heart attaque when it suddenly jumps alive. Really great at night when on accident you push a button... At the end, I pulled some lamp plugs out of the socket to switch off the lights. Maybe an instruction or at least words, to know which is what. At 11 pm, I noticed my room getting hotter and hotter. The thermostat was at 25 celsius... now I tried to lower it, but it didn’t go any lower then 23. I called reception, and they did a reset. It went to 10 celsius. Great. But after 5 min it went back on now showing it was heating up to 30... after some minutes I was able to shut down the entire system. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner Waking up with a beautiful Napolian blue sky! Up to breakfast! It was very quiet in the breakfast room. But boy oh boy! The choice wow! There was much choice. Even only the pies and cake department was impressive! I was warmly welcomed and I was brought tea and many other things. Asking me many times if I needed something. It was almost sad to leave the breakfast, it was wonderful! My compliments! - Check-out - As warmly as I was welcomed, as warmly was I said goodbye. She asked me if I had a great stay, and if something had been wrong or good. I told the only thing was the thermostat, and she apologized for this inconvenience, and that she would give the mini bar (which I had used) free of the house as a complimentary! She even took all the time to explain how to walk to the station and what things I could go see in Naples. CONCLUSION The hotel lives up to it’s name. The service is amazingly friendly and professional and the breakfast was majestic! The hotel probably needs an upgrade or small renovation, and I would recommend to make it more appealing by putting some plants, flowers, art and or paintings in the hotel lobby and in the rooms, to let it feel a bit more cosy. Also recommending that the photo of the room isn’t as the room is (maybe a newer or updated room, but it wasn’t room 505) But above all, a fantastic experience with professional staff, as it should be. Lovely hotel, bit noisey, good breakfast

Feb 12th, 2020

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. We had one of the rooms at the front, it was too noisy to leave the windows open at night, but fine when shut. My brother had a room at the side of the hotel and did not have any issues. Breakfast was lovely. Staff lovely. Beds comfy. In a great area of Naples. Lovely view if you lean out and look to the left, we were floor 5, floor 7 I think would have better view. All in all, recommended. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The hotel is dated, but very clean. We got a room at the top floor, with great views of the city, the volcano and the water. We had one of those old school keys that weigh a ton. They offered breakfast for 12 euro. The location can't be beat, it's in a nice part of Naples, and those high end shops and great bars and restaurants locals frequent to. I wish we had more time to explore Naples, but the short time we did, it made an impression on me. Naples is definitely not the cleanest city, but it has a lot of character. We went to Capri one day and Pompeii on another. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice Location, a Renovation Opportunity

Oct 24th, 2019

The location is a high point, an easy walk to the water front, shopping, restaurants, pleasant walking street areas. Rooms are adequate in size, though renovation would provide a definite improvement. In our room, furniture indicated some age and the chairs could have been a bit more stable. The shower was probably the smallest I have encountered in a hotel. The thermostat was set for AC only, and it could only be adjusted between 19 and 21 C. While probably an adequate temperature range for many folks, the room remained too cold for us, even at the 21 C setting. The solution was for the hotel front desk to turn off the AC/Heat in our room. Allowing one to set the room temperature, to which was desired, would have been preferable. Service was fine and breakfast was average. A little renovation would enhance its 4 star rating. All in all, our stay was fine for for our visit. Though, a future room renovation would definitely enhance the stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location

We chose this hotel due to its location. You are able to easily walk to surrounding sights. The hotel seemed a little dated and breakfast was not great - we decided to eat at the cafe next door! Room and bathroom were spacious, and the gym was sufficient. We travelled with a 2 year old and they happy provided us with a cott. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
