Filthy, Smelly, Gross

Jul 21st, 2019

Just because this hotel is in Scottsdale, does not mean it is Scottsdale quality. We arrived after the check-in time of 3pm and ended up having to wait an additional hour and a half before our room was ready. I could hear the receptionist, who was actually a lovely lady, talking to the housekeeper on the phone about how bad the room was before our check-in. We figured, if they already knew the previous guests had left the room in poor condition, that they would have done a really good job cleaning the room. We were wrong. All the other reviews you read about this place being filthy are correct. There was a used dirty towel hanging on the bathroom door when we arrived. The pull-out bed, which we really needed with 6 people in our family, was filthy. There were no sheets on the mattress, nor where there sheets or pillows in the closet to put on the mattress. The mattress was stained with a lot of disgusting stains. Our son, who stands 5’8 ended up sleeping on the loveseat itself. There was a puddle of yellow grease on the floor. My son used one of our allotted towels to try to wipe it up. Although it was a non-smoking floor, the smell of marijuana smoke filled the floor the entire time we stayed there. When there wasn’t the smell of fresh marijuana smoke, the floor smelled like an old dirty refrigerator. We requested additional towels and were only allowed to have 2 additional towels, 4 total, for a family of 6. Remember, one of the towels was used to clean up the “grease” puddle. The sheets on one of the beds were not clean. We ended up bringing in blankets from our car for our children to sleep with. Their “breakfast” consisted of small prepackaged muffins and granola bars. The only nice thing I can say about this property is that there was grass to walk our dogs in. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. You would be better off staying next to the airport in the “bad” part of town. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Long stay

I gave the rating of 3 stars due to some issues with the room itself that were corrected as best as possible and having difficulty with a staff member over the phone. Please don't let that fool you though. This hotel is the best secret. The staff is incredible and beyond the word helpful. Seriously at the drop of a hat they had what you needed, respected your privacy and were extremely quick and efficient. The free breakfast was fantastic and never ran out. The sweet lady running the breakfast area was a godsend and kept the area immaculate. Always free fresh baked cookies and lemonade or water available. The grounds were always perfect and the pool area was cleaned thru out the day. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Scottsdale trip

The only good things about this hotel were the bedroom layout, a warm pool and hot tub and good customer service. The bad things were the breakfast, cleanliness, and accessibility, These are the things i think could use major improvement. We will look elsewhere for hotels in the future unless it is an emergency or tight budget. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A nice stay!

May 18th, 2018

I booked this hotel with some hesitation due to some of the reviews I had read about it. I was quite surprised with my overall stay. The front desk gal (Alishia) was sweet, very accommodating and wonderful to deal with. The morning staff was pleasant also. The room was as expected. It was clean and I was happy with it. As stated by someone else, I did hear a noise off and on all night, but after the first night, I realized what it was, the fridge, but it didn't keep me up or anything other than something I heard when I turned over while sleeping. My toilet and shower were clean and in working order. I was happy to have a kitchen, although I only used the fridge. Tip: If you want to use the kitchen, make sure to ask for the utensils at the front desk when checking in. I never made it to the breakfast, lol, but I asked, and it is as it's advertised "grab and go". So, if you want a hot meal, upgrade your stay to somewhere else. There was a pool and gym, but I never got a chance to visit either. I was very happy with my stay and would book again next time I'm in North Scottsdale. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
