First, the place is way too damned expensive. I traveled there to take a job and I was intent to stay until at least the beginning of August, and they still charged over $1,000 for a room exactly 300 square foot in size for the first month, and close to $1200 for the second month. That's $34/night, which is all the place was worth, but had I not scheduled out to the beginning of August, it was going to be $67 per night, otherwise, which is highway robbery!!! My 'job' there ended very early so I came home. I checked out at 8 am on the 16th of June, just 13 days ago, which MEANS I should have received back half of the $1144 I paid for the month for this tiny room, which should have been $572, and I just got back, this morning, $305. THIEVES!!! My first three weeks there I had an invasion of ants into my room. I am a clean person, I keep my living space close to tip-top shape, if not tip-top; I wash my dishes every night, I keep my towels and clothes off the floor, I don't leave food in places it does not belong, but I was invaded by ants, anyway. I paid $32 for a month of high-speed internet and that internet was up and down bandwidth and speed-wise all the time; I was told in my first few weeks that a new system had been installed, but I was still having problems the second month I was there. The last WEEK of my first month there my card-key was continually locked out, where I would be bringing home heavy groceries and having to leave them in front of my door -after the ant problem was taken care of- so I could have my cards re-initialized. This happened EVERY AFTERNOON FOR A WEEK, until I could resolve my internet bill and my rent for the new month. That is just asinine. Finally, while I was there, the daily breakfast was unavailable, due to COVID, which is asinine in and of itself, but the every day prices should have been dropped by at least 30% of highway robbery. Now, before I move on... the cleaning staff and, for the most part, the front desk staff, were very nice, and helpful. Chuck, the on-site maintenance man is responsive and good-natured, even-tempered. The internet tech support folks were very nice and helpful. However, I will NEVER EVER recommend anyone stay at this place, or any other ESA. I was ultimately surprised that the prices were not solid, at all, and the further out one is booked to stay, the less expensive the place is, but it starts from a premium hotel standpoint. My wife and I just stayed in a five-star hotel over this last Anniversary weekend, and it was $145 for one night, INCLUDING the Anniversary package and two meals for each of us. That hotel is well-appointed, beautiful, clean, has a courteous staff and excellent food. Did we have to wear our masks? Yes, but only until we got to a table. Our hotel room was 750 square feet and well-furnished, with a huge television and an air conditioner that was brand new and didn't sound like it was breaking down all the time. There is no comparison, this ESA in Huntsville and, I would presume, ESAs across the nation, have bad policies regarding booking, stays, and refunds, and are not worth the time or money. Fortunately for the ESA in Huntsville, every other Extended Stay place I checked out, there, was a crack house of some kind, all with really bad reviews. Well, ESA Huntsville, you just took a step down. I thought I was VERY understanding while I was there, but now that I see this last straw of $305 rather than $572 refunded, you will never have my business, nor my recommendation EVER AGAIN!!! Terrible manager experience!

I broke down on my way to the hotel two days ago and was dropped off via a rollback wrecker. Yesterday I had to order a new water pump and have it delivered to the hotel so that I could fix my truck. I made the repairs myself and went on with my evening. This morning I walk out to a note TAPED to my window saying that someone has complained about me working on my truck and some antifreeze in the parking lot and I needed to come see the manager! I went to the office and she was not in, so I left my number and headed to work. Later I get a call from the manager, Angela Ray, who called with an attitude. She proceeded to berate me and talk down to me and tell me it is against hotel policy to work on vehicles in the parking lot. I asked her if there was any posted signs that said this and explained that no one from the staff had said ANYTHING to me when I picked up my parts at the front desk! (She acknowledged that there was no signs and nothing on the check-in paperwork that says anything about working on vehicles.) She then proceeded to tell me it is common knowledge.....but obviously it isn't! I continued to try to explain that I did not have a choice on fixing my vehicle since I was from out of town, but she continued talking down to me and telling me I could not be working on my vehicle in the parking lot. I then told her that I had called ESA Corporate, and she just laughed. Later, when I called back to ESA Corporate they told me Mrs. Ray had called and had made a report regarding the incident (trying to cover her butt! Imagine that!) Let me also mention, before I left the hotel this AM, I went around and took pics of all the parking places full of oil and other chemicals from all the work trucks that park here at night. This evening, on the way back, I went by AutoZone and picked up a bag of ChemDry to soak up any antifreeze I might have spilled. I am sure this will not be acknowedged and I still have to get the tape residue off my truck window! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Thank You For the Excellent Service

I have been staying here since late August and possibly thru December. The staff here is friendly, courteous, responsive and truly cares about what they do. Be it the front desk staff, Chuck in maintenance, or the housekeeping staff (especially Reichyl) they are all great and have made my stay exceptional. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. A solid choice

Everything should be reviewed at the appropriate level. If you expect ESA to be a high end hotel, then you live a life with rose colored glasses. If you are budget minded and need/want a decent place to stay, then ESA Huntsville USSRC is that place. I initially went with the mindset this would be on the low end in quality, but I was so wrong. The facility is clean, everything in working order, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I’ve return for the second week of work in Huntsville and I find that this place is consistent in service. If you’re not a member of the Perks program, you should be for the 20% off signup TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Well, who would'da thunk?

how nice to have a pleasnt surprise about a hotel, but before I start, let me tell you that before I actually got checked in from the time I use the ESA reservation line, the price went up 4 times. a lot hs to fo wiht the fact that Huntsville hs the highest taxes on hotel rooms, tha I have EVWR seen, and I have stayed in hu dreds of hotels in hundreds of cities accross this country. but once I got to the hotel, I decided it it was all ok. yes I ended up oaying more than I had planned, but the hotel itself was a nice surprise first of all the check in was good. hey were usy and hd the typical check in waith time, but Paul. (the man that checked me in was AWESOMW. evn though he was vry busy, hwe took the time to get me in my rood and well taken care of. and for an ESA, he hotel waa actually pretty nice. clean, convienent, and well ran. forget using the elevator however, if you can't handle lots of steps and you have to USE THE ELEVATOR, you are IN "TROUBLE!! it had to be the slowest 3 floo elevagor in the whole U.S.A. yes, I did say the whole usa. - luckily Paul was a ble to shift my room to the 1st floor for me. but other than that I am pleased. they actuall have a nice FREE,lilttle beakakfast bar, that i didn't get up early enough to enjoy;, but HEY that's why i stayed at a ESA,, so I can fix my own food. so I made out O.K. anyway.. but if you need a fairly reasonabley priced -nice hotel, I give this place my full endorsement. In fact I decided that I would extend my stay time from a week to a month, and no regrets.. "happy travels"! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
