Lousy front desk service -they broke item you paid policy sucks

This was a hotel that my coworkers used to stay at every time they had a business trip in the area. During one of his stay in July, my coworker reported a broken wall lamp to the front desk who advised him that "their maintenance team would take care of it". Upon trying to check in to the hotel this month, he discovered that his name had been blacklisted by hotel staff on a "not to rent guest list" for the reason of "damaging hotel property". He was kicked out of the hotel upon arrival and not given a chance to explain his side of the story. Furthermore, he was never given any kind of indication that he had been blacklisted while reserving his room online. Other than having his name on the blacklist, there is also no other form of paperwork or documentation on the events that occur on July that offers any kind of explanation to the situation. We've been loyal to this hotel for several years prior, but will never again stay at this hotel again. Save yourself the trouble and find another place to spend the night. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I'm very disappointed at this place and especially a couple staff members. Me and my husband are staying here for a couple of months due to the nature of his construction job. We had gotten a special rate for the company he worked with. We payed the same amount every week, then twice, when we had already been here for a month, they tried to over charge us. One time even up to 200$ extra! Mind you we had been paying the same rate every week, then one day we magically were told it was going to be 200$ extra. Well when the front desk attendant told us that on our day to pay, I politely asked her to break it down for me and explain why I was being charged so much, when I had been paying the same rate for a whole month and it wasn't supposed to go up. If anything it was supposed to go down. She could not explain it and proceeded to try and get me to pay that extra money. I once again politely told her I can not pay that without knowing why I am paying this much extra and I would need to speak with the manager because maybe it was about us changing rooms due to a maintenance issue. She continued to be rude and say"well I just dont know!!" And "well that's what it's saying! I did the math!!" In a VERY rude tone . (I thought maybe when we had to change rooms they just forgot to put the discount back in our account,) the front desk lady, then proceeds to give me a crap ton of attitude once again and is extremely rude to me and my husband. I will not be coming back to this location. Multiple people here have told me they have had problems with this place. Not worth it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
GAVE ROOM KEY TO A STRANGER!

DO NOT STAY AT THE EXTENDED STAY AMERICA IN TANASBOURNE The other day I needed to stay in a hotel in order to hide from a person that has been stalking me. This person has been doing some increasingly scary behavior and I feared for my safety at this point and decided that I would stay in a hotel for the night. I even stayed with a friend under his name that way my name was not attached to the room in any way. Upon checking in we made the lady at the front desk aware of the situation and we told her not to give out our names or our room number to anyone, under any circumstances. She assured us that she would do whatever possible to assure our safety and privacy. Well she must not have relayed the message to the next lady that came on shift. Because sometime later that evening someone tried to open our hotel room door. When I say they “tried” I mean this person HAD A KEY TO OUR ROOM! We proceeded to barricade the door with the couch and look out of the peep hole and of course it is the man that is stalking me! We then call the front desk and the lady working says “you need to give him his car back” in a very unapologetic tone. Basically the “stalker” had manipulated the lady at the desk by telling her I had stolen his car and he needs to get it back. That was her reason for giving him the key. This man had driven his car to the hotel though so obviously it wasn’t stolen by anyone. This is just a story he made up to try and gain her sympathy. Well it worked. But why in the world would the lady at the front desk give a random person a key to another guests room? This is so wrong on so many levels it’s not even funny. Who knows what could have happened if he actually got into the hotel room. This person could have violently attacked me all because the front desk made a blatant error and gave a complete stranger a key to my hotel room. Luckily the cops showed up and made the man leave before anything bad happened. We then contacted the hotel manager via email to tell him about what happened and asked him if he could possible make amends by giving us a free room for the next night either in a different room or preferably a different property because the “stalker” now knew where I was. He told us he would not give us anything but he would “investigate” the claims. As if I was making up some story just to get a free night stay! This was not only a scary experience for me but extremely embarrassing for me to even ask for this. This is honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in my life and the hotel staff and management only made the situation worse in every way possible. If you are a female, especially one traveling by yourself, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. They do not take your safety as a matter of importance. There are plenty of other hotels in this area to choose from. Please learn from my mistake when choosing your next hotel to stay at in the Hillsboro area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Extended Stay Has Really Gone Downhill

I used to stay at Extended Stay hotels often during travel for work and always had a pleasant experience. I don’t know if it’s a corporate thing or this hotel in particular, but wow have they gone downhill. The rooms here are cramped and claustrophobic and the pillows they provide are about the size of a throw pillow you’d put on a couch. You can’t request extras. There are no longer dishes and silverware in the rooms, you have to request them. Plus the dishes are now cheap plastic things. You now have to pay extra for a wi-fi connection with decent speed. Don’t plan on streaming anything unless you’re willing to pay something like $6 a day. I definitely will no longer be staying at an Extended Stay hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I have stayed at this property for 9 weeks and will stay for 2 more. Everyone at the front desk was super helpful, from James (General Manager) to Bonnie, Liz, Jessica, etc. Highly recommended to stay here for your next trip to Hillsboro/Portland. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
