quiet location, good for strolling around

Dec 10th, 2019

Well appointed hotel rooms , great location on the river banks, restaurants (3) will suit all tastes and styles, common area around open fire great place to meet other travellers, plenty of board games as a way of getting travellers to meet and engage in conversation. Very good staff. would recommend as a place to stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Two nights in Fairbanks - little disappointing

Nov 6th, 2019

We. booked as most do as part of a land tour of the interior of Alaska. Our room was not as reserved. We reserved for for a king bed and it was not delivered. The room was over looking the parking lot. It was decent nothing special. The people serving in the restraints and bars were fantastic and really mage a difference in our stay. Food was as to be expected in a large hotel. It is remote in terms of getting downtown. Note remote enough to be special. Grounds are nice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Two nights in Fairbanks

Oct 10th, 2019

My wife and I recently visited Fairbanks with friends while on a cruise tour in Alaska. We stayed for 2 nights at the Fairbanks Princess Lodge. The lodge was right on the river with really nice views. There are some walking trails around the property with nice scenery, including their own extensive vegetable gardens. The rooms were clean and well kept. The service was very good as well. We enjoyed our stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Just like a train Station

The rooms are really nice but almost everything else about the hotel it terrible. These Princess hotels are really just distribution points for passengers from ships. If you like huge your groups and being herded like cattle this may be for you. Just about impossible to get a meal with huge lines. The main restaurant is extremely expensive and the casual pub restaurant is much too small, although meals are more reasonable. Had to get a bus to the airport at midnight and buses were late and it was a scramble to get on when they eventually got there. Hotel takes no responsibility of course. This is essentially the end of the line and guests won’t go back so why bother TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I stayed here for two nights with my wife during a Princess land tour. It isn't located in an open-country setting and looks more like a hotel but the quality is good nevertheless. It is located on a riverside and is within walking distance of stores although this involves walking along some main roads. The bar-grill was very busy and I found it difficult to get served here a couple of times. Breakfast in the main dining room was a standard buffet. I can't comment on dinner as our group had a meal in one of the function rooms but the food was good. The grounds of the lodge are not large but are pleasant to walk around and include the kitchen garden where vegetables are grown for use in the kitchens. As with other Princess lodges the reception will call you if the Northern Lights make an appearance, which they did. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
