A Former Run Down Fairfield Inn Still Run Down

Disclosure: OXO is an Indian owned company run by Indians. Where does one start when greeted with a 100$ required deposit or you can get out even if you've prepaid. This charge claims to be the old amenities jive but its actually a scam with Oyo and their banker to make short use of your money. It takes 2 to 3 days to be charged back after your stay. Where is it kept i wonder? Add a bed that smelled like the collective Jackson citizens took turns farting on it and an ac unit that didn't work until i pushed 2 different speeds at once plus a staff full of attitudes and you have your usual oyo at least from the review of other properties of theirs. Why did i stay there? Because they bought out a Fairfield Inn and offered a generous price while they remodeled. It hasn't been. Why did Fairfield inn leave? Probably the neighborhood beginning with a transient hotel next door. By the way-blown out lights in the parking lot making everything very very dark. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Looks like a good deal... At first.

My girlfriend and I we're gifted a 3 night booking from her mother in order to spend come time with her grandmother that is several states away. Don't get me wrong, the room is nice, and that's where the positives end. No booking site mentioned their check in policy: reservation, I'd, and payment method must all match. So the reservation her mother made in our name but paid for with her card was unredeemable. We had to pay because despite accepting the booking with the mismatched names, we couldn't check in, and hd to pay out of pocket..... But they don't accept cash, so it's a damn good thing we had it in the bank. There was only a single full sized towel in the bath, and when I asked the front desk for another they made a big deal about it and gave me a floormat to use as a towel. Also mentioned on every booking site is that they either offer laundry services or have facilities for guests, wording varies, nope. "They don't do that here." Which, by the way, was the same answer to their non existent breakfast and gym that is also advertised on every booking site. All being said, the room is nice, but for what we are paying, it would be nicer to not be catfished by non existent accommodations. We could have saved over a hundred dollars by going somewhere else that didn't offer said accommodations. From my point of view, false advertising is fraud. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Okay to stay for night!

We stayed here in this Jackson Motel. I liked it for neatness! We took double bed option! They have provided Microwave and fridge and totally it’s decent! Good value for money but since I have stayed previously in better star rating hotels... so.. Pros Okay Value for night Neat Cons They claimed they have breakfast but they didn’t do it and they said because of renovation Swimming pool was closed Exercise Room was not usable Old furniture No tap option in shower!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

What a difference 1 year make, I'll never stay at this hotel again.

Check in was easy, was kinda disappointed with my room first no tub just a shower would've preferred a tub but that was ok, breakfast what breakfast the no eggs grits bacon nothing, cereal milk oatmeal gravy for those hard biscuits horrible just horrible. Also, the coffee was horrible weak weak weak. Tried to get extra towels 1 small and 1 big towel, pool was closed, I suggested this place to other people in my group so sorry I did that. We stayed here on July 24th. First let me compliment the evening desk clerk. She was outstanding. Courteous and met our every need. That's where it ended. Pulling in around 10:30pm the parking lot lighted was very poor. Some lights not working. Entry trash cans overflowing. Walking by the pool on our way to the elevator, and the pool was green. Did not have anyone in it. One elevator with 3 floors. It was very slow and had graffiti etched into the stainless steel doors. Upon getting to the room, it was very musty. Turning on the air onto "cool" the button must of had a short in it. Had to press it several times. While trying to get it to work, my wife called the front desk from the office phone. It went through, but nothing could be heard once answered. The desk clerk then called my wife's cell phone to find out what we needed. But the air finally came on. The office chair was just an embarrassment to even a 2☆ hotel. About 90% of the so called leather was worn off, exposing the bare seat. The next morning upon leaving we went down for breakfast. The layout was very disorganized. Every table at 7:30am was dirty (crumbs, etc) not wiped down. We cleaned our table ourself. Made waffles but couldn't locate the syrup. There was a caddy rack holding all kinds of honey, jelly, etc. But no honey. I went an asked an attendant if they had anymore syrup. No answer was given, she just stopped sweeping and walked into the dining area. Looked towards the waffle iron, and I looked confused because I checked there. She then slowly pointed to this stainless steel pitcher that wasn't labeled with anything. Her demeanor was very condescending towards us. We finished eating and went back upstairs to get our luggage and to check out. Once again the morning desk clerk was good. Leaving the hotel I notice the trashcans still hadn't been emptied. After staying at several of the Marriott chains, this was by far the worse one. Needs to be updated and more training to certain employees. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
