Good value and good location

Jun 15th, 2020

The Fairfield is tucked back away from US-31 south of town so it has less road noise than a lot of the hotels east of downtown. Very convenient if you are going up the Leelanau peninsula because you can avoid the horrendous traffic downtown. Continue to look at room rates for this hotel after you book because they raise & lower rates based on their occupancy levels. Floors are creaky and thin, felt like ours was going to cave in when you walked across it. Also, sounded like a herd of bison in room above us. Definitely would have lowered the rating of this hotel if not for current pandemic situation, stayed two nights and they never cleaned our room. May try again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Pleasant Stop Over

May 19th, 2020

I was in Traverse City on business and stayed at the Fairfield Inn. The room was spacious, clean and located near restaurants and close to the place that I was working at. This made for an ideal situation for my needs. The breakfast in the morning had a good variety of cold and hot foods and great coffee. The staff was friendly and helpful. The dinning area provided a comfortable spot to meet some co-workers who were also staying at this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Stay!

Jan 29th, 2020

My husband and I met our friends in Traverse City to watch some high school girls varsity basketball. Our friends chose this place and we’re glad they did! We would absolutely stay again! The front desk staff was very friendly and professional. The beds were very comfortable. The room was clean. The soap in the shower is no longer bars of soap - the body soap, shampoo and conditioner, as well, are in containers attached to the wall - clearly they’re thinking about the environment. Also, the toilet paper isn’t like sandpaper! :) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Another shopping weekend

Dec 8th, 2019

Travelled solo for a spur of the moment weekend away from Canada. Drove up to one of my top choices in hopes there’d be a room available. Once again I was greeted so warmly and felt this front desk representative of the property truly wanted my business. She went above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed my weekend. Included a surprise upgrade in a quiet end of the hotel. I experienced: clean, modern and spacious suite- fabulously comfortable bed-extra blanket and pillows- quality coffee selections-fridge that actually kept things cold-complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash right in the shower-clean microwave-comfy robe-televisions with excellent selection of channels-free newspaper-market goods-coffee,tea,hot chocolate always available-cookies and infused water-pool and hot tub that weren’t over chlorinated-decent sized and quality pool towels-much appreciated adults only pool hour up until 11:30! - very good complimentary breakfast with some different offerings on different days - quiet rooms and hallways for an uninterrupted sleep (even with a sports team in attendance)- quiet and accurate heating/ac unit-close and convenient proximity to shopping and dining- well tended entry for safety-everything in perfect working order-friendly staff who never failed to greet me and ask if they could do anything for me! I like to travel every 4-8 weeks. There are many options for my accommodations. This is one of my top 3 choices when I come to Traverse City. It is well on the way to being my number 1 after my experience this trip. THANK YOU! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Thanksgiving Getaway

Dec 1st, 2019

Hotel is tucked between Cracker Barrel in front to the East & Sam's Club on its North side. The back of the 3 story hotel is facing woods, with no parking there. The entrance felt smaller than some other hotels, with the check in on the right...breakfast room to the left. There was a large jug of fruit infused water for guests to try. One passes by the pool, as they travel to their room. The windows looking into the pool room were about 4 feet high. The pool courtyard was below our room. The pool & hot tub is not highlighted or mentioned in the hotel's website prominently. I called the hotel directly to make sure this hotel had a pool. The bathroom is not in the pool area, but one can rinse their feet off right when you get into the pool area. The pool was 5 feet deep, smaller, and chilly. The hot tub holds 8, but the jets blasted out cooler water, yet the hot tub was hot. One worker said the pool closed at 11:30pm. Our room was clean & inviting, and a unique design, with 2 TVs, a refrigerator, and 2 robes, and quiet. It would have been quieter if we had a top floor. This was Black Friday shopping weekend with women getting up early with their heels! Luckily, we did not hear room doors slamming or people in the hallways! This Fairfield will be a different hotel next year, and a new Fairfield will be built up the road. There are other hotels to choose in the area, but cost more. I got a new Marriot card & stayed 2 nights to get more points in a special deal. Many Holiday Inns are selling their hotels to other brands, so that is the reason we are now trying out Marriot. They are similar, except at breakfast...Marriot had waffles, instead of my husband's beloved pancakes from HI. Breakfast is free, but varied times. The people at the front desk were very nice, and we would definitely stay again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
