TRAVELER BEWARE - CESSPOOL This is the second time I've stayed at this location and I have to say that I had my doubts about staying here again. The sole purpose of staying here was to take advantage of using my points during an overnight stay while traveling. I used the Bonvoy app to manage my reservation and performed an early check-in even thought I didn't arrive until 12:15am. Upon entering the hotel the gentleman behind the counter couldn't realize that my room had already been paid for with my points. He spent 20 minutes doing this and swiping my credit card several times until I asked him why he was swiping my card which lead me to explaining I had used points. Upon researching the hotel, I found it was built in 1998, and last renovated in 2013. Therefore, the last seven years the following conditions have occurred and not much else has been done to fix the issues. While driving up to the hotel, the first thing I noticed was the marquee sign was not eve lit up. I thought, "are they open for business?" How proud the home office must be. It all started when I entered the room and got my first impression. Bad. I had thought I had walked into an old Baymont Inn from the 80s; or, perhaps from the 70s. Stall ceilings no décor whatsoever, and bad, dated wall paper. Then I started to look closer. Keep in mind all of this AFTER I check in at 12:30; 1:00am my the time I got settled. Entrance Door: the entrance door seemed to have been a little easy to open. I thought that it wasn't latched. That had lead me to look closer only to find the door was horrible out of square with the door frame. That gap at the bottom was so wide you could see into the hall way. The door had either sustained some damage at one time or the frame was never hung correctly from the start. Carpeting: The hotels insist on installing tile between the entry/sink area/bathrooms and the "living" area. The carpeting was so frayed it could lead to a tripping hazard if one isn't paying attention. This can be said for the carpet base board as well at the outside corner. I have never seen anything like this is this hotel chain. Upholstered chair: The one upholstered chair in the room was disgusting. Stained by God only knows what. I hate to know if what I thought would be confirmed. How foul. Desk Chair: The desk chair looked like it was eaten, swallowed, and spit back up again. All the finished surface leather was gone. This is something you would see on the side of the road put out for the junk collector. Furniture: General condition of the furniture wasn't great. Edges of the drawers were worn and the cabinet where the frig was at was all banged up; from the vacuum cleaner, no less. Bathroom: the bath tub had some funky staining in it that I can't explain. The toilet was small was not an handicapped height or an extended bowl. I am a grown man at 6'-1" and saw this toilet being used in a middle school; or, and house built in 1950s. Shower curtain rod: The shower rod was falling on the wall. Generally, a lawsuit waiting to happen if it falls on someone's head. Lamps and shades: bent, creased, cracked plastic, etc. The stem of the lamp at the desk was loose. I didn't want to touch it for fear I'd break it and cause its final demise. The lamp between the beds wasn't anything to write home about either. Even if I wanted to, there was only one functioning light bulb. I went to check the clock and what volume it was set on if the alarm had been set by the previous occupant. No. No power; that is only to fine the outlet on the base was coming out of the and causing it to short. So, I unplugged the clock. I didn't want to wake to an inferno. Window & Curtain shears: When I first got in the room, I wanted to close the drapes and lower the temperature and humidity of the room. What did I find, you ask? The window was found open. The frame was bent which made it near impossible to close and lock. After several tries I had succeeded; but, not before noticing the mold and dirt up and down the frame. Then I noticed the shears along the bottom hem. Dirty as dirty can be from the air coming out of the a/c. Again, disgusting! I also found a wash cloth under the curtains from God only knows when, and, with God only knows what on it; and, I found a McDonald's receipt under the edge of the bed FROM A MONTH AGO!!!!! This really made me start to wonder when the last time this room was used and better yet, cleaned!!!! Finally, I thought, "well at least I can have some coffee since the lobby isn't preparing coffee due to COVID-19. That stopped me dead in my tracks when I looked inside the water reservoir. NO COFFEE FOR ME THAT MORNING!!!! From these samples of horrid, deplorable conditions in this hotel, I will never stay here again and certainly not recommend it. I plan on registering a complaint directly with Marriott and the Marriott Vacation Club to petition to get my points reinstated. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

2 major issues for me: 1) guests were smoking in NON-SMOKING rooms/areas of the hotel and 2) there was only ONE (1) ICE MACHINE for hundreds of guests, located all the way down on the first floor! The employees were nice; but not enough to offset the negatives for me. Also the continental breakfast was quite lacking! Yuck! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

we checked in at around 9.00pm and were tired .But clean room and nice comfortable mattress worked really good on us. woke up well rested. Wish could stay a day more and enjoy the comfort and great service but had to check out. great experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Our stay there at the Fairfield Inn south haven May 23-26 me & My family arrived Thusday night May 23 we checked in to only find our room was dirty I then went and spoke with front desk he informed me that that room had been checked in and back out room wasn't dirty but could tell someone had been in there . On Saturday night May 25 I tryed to reach front desk several times but could never get answer so I go down stairs to witness the front deck worker setting in the lobby with friends ,there is a strong profanity being used and the desk clerk sitting right with them . I would suggest you guys to ask the front desk worker to stay at front desk and not sit in lobby it took 5 mins and several other guest standing up front before she realized we was there. Sunday was another repeat same front desk worker not doing her job sitting in lobby customer haveing to wait . Also the swimming pool should e checked daily when we first arrived pool was clean and clear by Saturday night pool was dark green. I hope you guys are able to fix your problems if we could had found somewhere else to stay we would had checked out TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
