Wonderful

I love my stay here, it was absolutely amazing. I will be staying again. The breakfast was good, the Front Desk staff was like no other, out of all my travel the staff here was #1. Thanks Fairfield Gulfport. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good one night stop

Nov 28th, 2019

Stayed here on our way to New Orleans. I see some other reviews were pretty bad, but I think you need to keep in mind that Fairfiled is about at the bottom of the Marriott food chain, so don't expect the Ritz here. I think this was pretty typical of most Fairfields thought the air cond was a bit noisy, otherwise the hotel was pretty quiet (but we were on the top floor). Typical Fairfield breakfast, staff was nice. Ample parking though a bit hard to get into the property (have to make a U turn if coming from the north). TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nope

Yes this property was going through renovations when I stayed there, but not much more than “icing on a bad cake”. Have stayed at a lot of Marriott properties, this one brings up the rear. The positives convenient location and free breakfast (which was poor), but the negatives far outweigh them. Didn’t get the feeling of safety here...a must when traveling. Very loose policy in terms of who can come and go into the lobby...again sketchy. The rooms were very basic and very noisy HVAC units in the room. Want to watch a bit of TV? Get ready for blurry reception no matter what channel you choose. Hurts me to give my beloved Marriott such a bad grade and comments...but seriously guys!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Work in progress, but still a good stay

Oct 16th, 2019

Stayed here for a couple nights recently. Checkin was fast and trouble free - requested and got a top floor room, so no chance for noise from upstairs guests. They are in the process of renovating the property, so hallways have a very unfinished look. Our room was okay, although we were somewhat surprised by the dust on the clothes hangers. Our first thought was how long had it been since the last person stayed in this room - then we realized that the dust was from the construction work, i.e., sanding drywall compound. Of course, housekeeping should have kept ahead of this and kept the rooms clean - even the hangers. Other than that the room was okay - we weren't bothered by noise from other guests and everything worked. As a lifetime titanium elite member, we were able to get a very late 4 p.m. checkout without any complaint from the desk clerk (even though this is a standard perk, many properties balk at providing this accommodation, but not here). Overall for the price, it was an okay stay - of course, once all the work is done, it should be much nicer. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

TOO LOUD - TOO MUCH LATE NIGHT-EARLY MORNING NOISE- too much hassle.

Sep 11th, 2019

Substandard and way TOO LOUD- No rest no sleep - total frustration and a waste of my money and 12500 points. Bugs in rooms. An older model (dated facilities) Fairfleld inn with paper thin walls and floors. Awful Sleep quality- zero! uncomfortable spongy old mattresses. Windows ARE NOT DOUBLE panes- Right at end of major runway so planes litterally flying 50 feet above the hotel (kind of scary). Rooms face major highway and 24 hour IHOP and fast food restaurants- super loud car speakers BOOMING out rap music at 3 am in the morning. Transient guests checking in at all hours. VERY VERY LOUD on the weekends. House keepers slam doors and whack the sides of walls -so there's no way to catch up on the sleep you don't get at night. All you hear most of the night from 1am to 8AM is crash bang boom bam wham bam - enough to rattle the windows- it's like you're on an artillery range for pete's sake! The guy next to me is doing jumping jacks in his darn room at 5 am! They need to advise guests prior to check in too be quiet and mindful of others trying to rest. I ask for a quiet room at end of hall - they have hardly anyone in hotel yet as soon as someone checks in their booking system packs people right next to each other. No sound buffers and poor acoustics. Staff doesn't react to or take care of noise complaints. This is the last time I stay at this marriot. It's more and more the case that marriot (as a hotel chain) is going down hill- many of their hotels are cheap construction and overpriced rooms or the older ones are too outdated. The Staff here tries hard but it's just a hard hotel to stay in. I'm not staying at marriot for a long while - you CANNOT get any value nor can you get any quality REST- nerve racking and frustrating to stay at many of their hotels. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
