A pleasant stay at a fair price

Jan 4th, 2020

My wife and I went to New York to see two Broadway shows and stayed two nights at the Fairfield Inn. The check-in experience was excellent and everyone that worked at the front desk was pleasant and professional. All other staff seemed fine. Although the room was small, everything was in working order, the bed was very comfortable and everything was clean. The breakfast was fine and the coffee was excellent. For the price I would certainly recommend this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

NYC visit

Jan 3rd, 2020

Very clean and comfortable. Not big but big enough. We had 2 double beds so room for 4. Breakfast included was ok with a good variety of options. Great location for exploring NYC. Staff were friendly. Valet parking available but it would be cheaper to self park. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

not a good choice

Dec 15th, 2019

The location is excellent and the staff friendly, even if they couldn't help much. Check in and out were efficient. But the carpets in the hall are old and not completely clean. The room and bathroom were very small and not well equipped. There was a slow water leak from behind the toilet, and the TV didn't work (maybe needed new battery for remote). It was raining heavily when I needed to go out, but when I asked for an umbrella, they said they didn't have any (not that they were all out, but that they had no umbrellas-they used to, but people didn't return them and they didn't reorder in a timely manner). Overall the worst Marriott branded hotel I can recall. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect location

Dec 2nd, 2019

We couldn't have picked a better location, and we walked everywhere - in all directions. Also only a couple of blocks from the subway at Herald Square. The room was on the small side, but that's to be expected in Manhattan. At least there was a large desk for browsing on my computer while looking up at the Empire State Building! I loved that the windows could be opened partway, either swinging inward or downward. The bathroom was tight but functional with a nice shower. The place was soundproof, as the only noise we heard from neighbors was if they were in the hallway. The breakfast buffet was average and typical of this chain. The dining room was very cold when they opened, and they could've used more seating. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and accommodating. No NY attitude here! We would definitely stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Clean, quiet and convenient to Penn Station

Nov 19th, 2019

This Marriott hotel is a short walk to Penn Station and is in the heart of the Fashion District. It is an easy walk to K town, 5th Avenue, Empire State Building or Times Square. I loved the location. It is a quiet and safe neighborhood. There is a small lobby. There is a small breakfast room with a free breakfast (eggs, waffles, ham, bread/bagels, some fruit, cereal, yogurt, coffee/tea/juice). Rooms were quiet and roomy but not much room for clothing (very limited drawers and hanger space). No refrigerator in the room. Bathroom was decent size. Front desk staff was very nice. Had a problem with the television when we arrive and the electrical engineer came right up and had it working properly within ten minutes. Very pleased with Marriott quality. Fairfield is not the high end of the Marriott line which is why I did not give a 5 star rating. Friday, Sat, Sun cost about $735 TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
