Everything you would expect and more.

My stay was only for one night but we were very impressed with the Chateau Laurier. The common areas were beautifully kept and decorated and the room was spacious, luxurious and even had an excellent view overlooking Parliament. The staff, from the valet to the front desk, were super friendly and helpful. They even allowed us to check-in way earlier than the usual time (before 9am) which was very appreciated. I only hope I can stay longer next time! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfection!

We are just finishing up a wonderful week here. We were disappointed to learn before our arrival, that the pool is closed for maintenance. When we expressed our disappointment, we were quickly offered an upgrade. Our room is huge, has a full bathroom including bath tub which is a huge bonus for me. The food was delicious, our room was spotless and everyone is wonderful welcoming. Would recommend for anyone! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

New years night

Had a good time visiting the Chateau. Was given a night stay as a present for New Years. The room was beautiful, the dinner at Wilferd's was good too. Few hick ups along the way which made me annoyed. However they all were taken care of promptly, so I was satisfied. Firstly I made a reservation for NYE dinner when I booked (back in October). Luckily I decided to change the time and call mid-December... only to find out reservation disappeared. Restaurant made a new one and all was good. But I bet if I did not call it would have been awkward on NYE. Also after the dinner which was included in our prepaid celebration package, we found a 70$ charge on our check out bill titled "overage". Lady at front desk said it was for the food... above the dinner included in the package... dinner was buffet and we paid for drinks separately, so I do not see what could have been "over". Front desk also could not explain and suggested it was possibly a charge for "extra person" pointing at our 11 months old baby that was with us. I suggested it was absurd that an 11 months old baby could have eaten 70 $ worth of food and they took the charge off. So in the end I did not have to pay anything... but a feeling of annoyance at check out is unpleasant none the less. We did not use valet parking and parked at City Hall for free i stead. Pool was great and lobby was beautifully decorated! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very disappointing Fairmont experience

Booked this hotel through TD aero plan. Nowhere was it mentioned that the pool was closed for maintenance and buffet breakfast (apparently legendary) was not available due to low season. Their own website while mentioning pool closure did not inform about cancellation of breakfast buffet. We complained about it to 3 hotel staff and although polite they did nothing to mitigate our dissatisfaction. A simple”enjoy cocktails on the house” would provide some evidence of caring for customer’s satisfaction. Equally disappointing dining experience at their Zoe’s bistro. The server did not offer cocktail menu until asked for it and apparently the cocktails are their specialty. He mistook steak tartare for steak poivre and only caught it at the last moment. No bread offered before dinner. The most expensive drinks in town. I consider this to be the worst hotel experience in this class. A facade of class with no true caring for guests. Zoe’s new and improved!

I have to say that the new managers (Jake and Florian) have made amazing changes to Zoe’s. The decor is really getting better too making Zoe’s feel more cozy. The staff is amazing as always too! We love Isabel, Sara, Ginette, Chantal, and everyone else (wish we could remember everyone’s names). TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
