Overpriced and Fees, fees and fees.

I have spent over a hundred weeks in Whistler hotels including Chateau, Four Seasons, Westin, Hilton, Exec Inn, Glacier Lodge, etc. Chateau is a high end place w good facilities and service. Average room. Overpriced drinks/food, but pleasant atmosphere. Hotel is expensive enough, and then getting charged $20 plus tax as a resort fee, and $4-5 plus tax for HOUSEKEEPING fee on top of the $400 plus tax nightly rate for a base room is a blatant scam. After discussing fee with desk and manager and being told fees are mandatory, (for pool, etc.) I shall never return here. Expect over $30/day of extra fees and taxes above the room charge and taxes for being a hotel. Buh bye Chateau TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Winter break

Fantastic ski in/ski out hotel with amazing ski valet service! You cannot beat this location and the entire ski valet team is so expertly prepared and extremely efficient. Loved all the concierge attention especially from Stephanie and Luanne who went above and beyond setting us up with ski school Resy, lift tickets, airport transfer service and even restaurant recommendations and reservations. The amenities and restaurants are great in the hotel. We loved the Grill room restaurant and the Portobello for breakfasts. I can’t say enough positive things. We LOVED our whistler vaca and the staff at Fairmont made it a 5 star experience. Thank you! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I LOVED my experience at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. I have been here many times before and am blown away every time at how well run it is. The service was exceptional, every staff member I encounter was helpful, friendly and welcoming. Even the house keepers would smile and say hello when I walked past! A small detail that makes a guest feel welcome. The amenities are world class, everything was perfectly clean and tidy. The location is perfect with easy access to everything, in terms of convenience the Fairmont has everything right at it's front door. I especially enjoyed having a cocktail in the hot tub and watching people ski in off the mountain. My favourite hotel in Whistler by far! Already looking forward to y next visit. We stayed in a very busy week-16th to 23rd February - and had an excellent stay. The location is superb, the hotel has a lovely atmosphere, the staff are very good as are the pools and spa. We had a deluxe slopeside room which was a good size for 3 and had a great view. The queue for breakfast at Wildflower was a bit of an issue on a few days and the service if ordering a la carte could be slow. However, the breakfast was very good value relative to the quality. We had massages at Vida spa and, although the massage room didn't look overly impressive, the massage itself was excellent. The concierge team here are very efficient. We organised babysitting in advance through the concierge and had a few problems which they dealt with very professionally. We stayed at the Four Seasons last year and much preferred the Fairmont because of the location, the atmosphere and live music at the Mallard Lounge and the view from the room. In addition, it was an easy 10 minute walk to Whistler village. The hotel also offers a much appreciated car service which we used to go to Rimrock and Red Door (both restaurants were superb, book early). We will return next year. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Impressive Service

Property is huge and beautifully maintained. Hotel is well located at the foot of Blackcomb mountain, which is connected to the adjacent Whistler Mountain by the peak to peak cable car. Room is average American size and well kept. Our two queen size beds room fit even a rollaways. Refrigerator and microwave have to be rented. These came in handy for a quick snacks as restaurant on premise can be pricey. Our room had everything ready for us from day 1. Enough towels, shampoo for everyone. I had not had such experience of not having to ask for extra shampoo in every hotel we stayed in bc we wash hair daily. The room service staff got it right, matching their 5 star rating. Shuttle takes guests to the lower village where most restaurants and shops were. Shuttle was free and came frequently. Hotel tried to accommodate all my request to their best ability. The most impressive part is the ski valet in the basement of Fairmont. The ski valet staff measured our feet, fit our boots and ski all so efficient and courteous. The equipment was in good condition. We left the equipment with the valet. Next day pick up the equipment is as easy by giving room number. Walked out the basement exit and voila one was a short 100 feet by the blackcomb gondola. After one is done skiing, the staff came out to help carry equipment to storage. It couldn’t get easier than that for skiers. This is skiers’ heaven, and hotel won my loyalty. It was truly 5 stars. I’m a fan. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
