Excellent hotel but service varies

A study in contrasts. The rooms are of good to excellent standard. The dining and bar area seems to be in total disarray with very poor and unfriendly service. Although being first seated at breakfast the wait staff ignored us. No one wanted to take responsibility for our table and eventually I had to go to the manager of the service to be served. 45 minutes later we received our (good) breakfast. The reception and concierge however deserve special mention - 5 star excellent service. In particular, Sean, the concierge went out of his way to help us out. 10/10 he is a credit to this hotel. Lasting memories ...

We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Fairmont Copley, we loved it! Our room was spacious, the bed so comfortable, the bathroom outstanding and overall even more than what we had expected. We felt as if the entire staff knew of our special occasion and were celebrating with us. We were always greeted with smiles, kindness and courtesy. The location is perfect for walking to restaurants and many of Boston’s sites. I loved meeting Carly, the resident black lab. We strongly recommend the Fairmont Copley and we will be sure to return ourselves. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Customer service after the stay!

Excellent location! Not a fan of booking through Fairmont corporate as the rates were misleading, ended up charged twice as much as expected. BUT it gave Ajla on Fairmont Copley's Gold level a chance to exemplify excellence in customer service. She went above and beyond to remedy this charge, working 2 weeks beyond when our stay had concluded. Hotel is gorgeous, location is awesome, Gold level is an excellent value for a family, and Ajla's customer service will ensure we go back again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beware of “standard” $25 per night fee.

They charge you a $25 fee. This is surely designed to make the rooms look cheaper online. Whichever knucklehead decided to do this needs to get fired. It makes the hotel management appear dishonest and left a bad taste in the mouth after an otherwise enjoyable stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not up to Fairmont Standards

We were disappointed with the Fairmont Copley. The staff was fine and the rooms were well appointed, but in general the building is not up to modern standards (understanding that this is an historic property). The room was tiny, the air conditioning didn't work, and our view was of mechanical systems on the roof below. If this had been a Ramada these inadequacies would have been overlooked, but this is a Fairmont. For the price you expect something better. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
