Another 5 star review! ⭐️

Jan 17th, 2020

There is a reason over 2,000 reviews average 5 stars. The facilities were beautiful. Enjoyed walking around by the golf course, horse area and pool. The room was very comfortable and the service was top notch. I’ve traveled quite a bit and this may be the best all around location I have stayed at. Highly recommend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wife’s birthday trip

Jan 14th, 2020

The name of the hotel is absolutely fitting. This is a GRAND hotel. Everything about the resort is fabulous. Gorgeous lobby and grounds. Beautiful rooms. Very attentive staff. It will be difficult trying to convince my wife not to celebrate her birthday here next year. She loves this place. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good, but the worse Fairmont we have stayed at

Jan 12th, 2020

Stayed here 3 nights over Xmas. And this review is comparing it to other Fairmonts and for the price you pay. I'm not comparing it to an average hotel. The hotel is beautiful and rooms are very large. I love that you can self-park for no fee. It is close to the freeway, but I think if you're going to San Diego this is place to stay if you like golfing. Otherwise, I would stay by the beaches or downtown. This place is overrated. We stayed to checkout the winter wonderland The negatives: 1. They have the worse children menu not just for Fairmont but for any restaurant period (ie. explorer club menu). Your choices is pasta/chicken fingers or something else simple. When you go to any other fairmonts the children menu includes options like fish or steak. To stay on this topic, children breakfast is $10 for 1 slice of bread for the french toast order. Or $10 for 1 plain waffle (no fruits or anyting, 1 pain waffle). $10 for 3 small pancakes and syrup. 2. The service is actually quite poor at Amaya, which is very suprising. One example of many is that on our first server at breakfast our sides was just potato or white bread. The next day we went another server actually gave us the option of potato or fruits (being healthy of course we chose fruits) and gave us an option of different breads. I'm a bit upset that the first server did not even give us options, he just brought us the food (had I known what I known after the second breakfast I would want the tips I gave the first server back and actually would want to file a complaint). We did not eat the burnt potato for the first day of breakfast. 3. The bike helmets do not fit kids (so bring your own if you want to borrow their bikes). It's actually lots of hills around the area so isn't the easiest to bike unless your child is older and strong). TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Loved our stay!

Jan 9th, 2020

We loved our stay here! Everything from valet to housekeeping was amazing! We stayed for 3 nights during the Winter Wonderland. It was a beautiful sight to see for the holidays. The property is huge! We were so amazed during our drive to the front of the hotel. Our room was comfortable and well maintained. Turndown service was wonderful. We enjoyed our walks around the property. Definitely a great experience! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Love this place

The decor, the staff, the facilities, the pools and wait staff make for a wonderful experience. Such a lovely ambience, for such a large establishment attention to detail is second to none. Can’t wait to come back TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
