An hour and a half from Quebec City in Charleroix is this hotel. It has hiking, biking, golf, table games, pool, spa and casino available. There are a couple of amazing restaurants offsite that you can drive to. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Food was gross, Wish I had read the reviews and didn’t book
Sep 8th, 2020
Me and my wife came here for our honeymoon. We were so excited to book here and expected it to be lovely considering major events like the g7 were booked here. Our biggest complaint was the food. For our first night dinner we ate at the “le saint Laurent” restaurant that was fully booked. We were expecting it to be quite nice. My partner ordered the steak. When it came out, it was tough and overdone. The frys tasted like they were recooked or left under a lamp for At least an hour. Honestly very gross, and not just substandard for the hotel but literally you wouldnt even get that at a McDonald’s. I ordered the trout special. The trout was also overcooked and tasted like it had been mass made and left under warming lights. The mushrooms were burnt (to the point of eating charcoal) and also tasted mass cooked and left out. It was so bizzare, even gas station food wouldn’t be so bad. The server was ok...rushed but polite... I can’t emphasize how poor the food quality was. I kept thinking of the Gordon Ramsay show kitchen nightmares, he needs to visit. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere so you don’t have many food choices. There are a few restaurants by the water we wish we ate at. Ordered nachos for as a snack and they were made with some kind of cheap foam cheese..gross The outside Property is nice, but the building itself isn’t maintained well. The rooms are big but have a tiny window with cheap finishes. Our key card stoped working 3 times so had to keep going back to reception. So many little things that made this a poor experience. I wish we had booked somewhere else.... Don’t book here!! Read the other reviews..honestly even a 3 star bnb would be better Ps. I NEVER leave reviews and am very easy going Was in Quebec City at the chateau Frontenac a few days before at that was fine. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
5-Star Resort - Room for Improvement
Sep 7th, 2020
Fairmont - Le Manoir Richelieu's originally constructed in 1899, rebuilt after a fire, and reopened in 1929 is reminiscent of a French Château that overlooks the St. Lawrence River in the picturesque region of Charlevoix offering on-site activities like tennis, snowshoeing, ice skating and golf or relax at the Moment Spa. Overall, staff are friendly but lack the high-class service that is typically expected for this upper-scale Brand. Rooms are over-rated and extremely expensive (Summer 2020) for the quality and room size offered, plus there’s a Resort Fee. For a Five-Star Resort, the Food was acceptable and unimpressive wine list. It’s difficult to imagine that the G7 2018 Summit was hosted here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Had a lovely stay here even though at the beginning we did had to wait 1 1/2 hours for our room which was a little annoying to be honest. The room itself was a king size bed so spacious room was very comfortable and enjoyable the bathroom was a good size with bad tub. The area around is very interesting lots to do swimming pool hot tub and tennis golf and more. All in all a great experience and would certainly go back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Nice but in need of some upgrades
Sep 2nd, 2020
I have to say I was a little disappointed with the size and overall condition of the room. It needs a refresh. The bed was very comfortable. The shower head was also older and did not feel strong enough. During Covid they have tough restrictions and do not make up your room every day. They were very eager to please and were quick to give us coffee pods, towels and glasses when needed. The pool area is lovely. The on site dining was ok. Visited both Restaurants but found the wine selection was not very good. Only a few average affordable wines then it jumped to over $100 quickly. We had cocktails in the bar every night and really enjoyed them but again this room could use an upgrade and some window cleaning. We found that it was pretty quiet during the week but on the weekend there were more offerings such as live entertainment an ice cream stand and snacks on the lawn. All at a fee of course. The nice restaurants in town are a 15-20 min walk but there is also a taxi service available which we used. Very safe and Covid conscience here. We did not have any concerns TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
