Room with a View

Aug 18th, 2019

Lovely downtown hotel. The room was very nice and the view was extraordinary. We had a very luxiourous bathroom. We used the spa facilities which was first class. They made an exception and allowed me to take my 14 year old granddaughter to the spa. She loved it. I would certainly recommend thids hotel if staying downtown or just wanting some pampering. I've stayed at the Fairmont numerous times and travel often on business. Without fail, it is spotlessly clean, with well appointed rooms, friendly staff and beautiful surroundings. In the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, it's a fave whether traveling on business or to enjoy some down time! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My home away from home

Aug 4th, 2019

I travel a lot and frequently stay at Fairmont brand hotels. Fairmont Pittsburgh has proven to be one of my favorite. From the moment I arrive Eddie who I would trust with any of my vehicles greets me and helps with valeting my car. Great guy and no worries when he is there to park my vehicle. Need help with your luggage? No worries. Ron or Brian will be more than glad to help you out. These two guys are like long lost brothers to me and couldn’t be any nicer and helpful. Their genuine attitudes and willingness to help us out and start our trip off on a good note is very appreciative. Doren or Michelle at the front desk are the sweetest. I’m always glad when they are working because they both have such infectious smiles and great personalities. Cheaper places to stay In Pittsburgh? Sure, but staying at Fairmont Pittsburgh is worth every penny. Rooms are very spacious and offer great views. Workout room is very modern with great variety of equip. I highly recommend this hotel. You will not regret it. Thanks again to the above mentioned individuals for always making me and my wife feel like VIP’s every time we stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Double booked my reservation and treated me like I was a liar

Jul 10th, 2019

I paid over $800 per night to stay at the Fairmont Pittsburgh on 7/9/19. When I arrived at around 6:45, the guy at the front desk said they couldn't find my reservation. When I produced an confirmation #2435448558 PIN #8354, the guy at the front desk became this passive aggressive, unhelpful jerk. He shunted me aside to help other customers, acted like i was making the whole thing up, and then claimed he had to go into the Booking.com reservation system and that they had no rooms. He just said with dripping sarcasam "Book somewhere else.." A complete jerk like this guy should not be in hospitality business. I have spent well over $50K at Fairmonts. I will never go back Stay at the Hotel Monaco just down the street. They are lovely and competent. Everyone should stay at the Hotel Monaco down the street. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Location is good and general staff (bell men, valet, wait staff all great). Manager is snooty and dismissive. Rooms and hallways are tired. Brought to their attention the tripping hazard caused by carpeting that is bunched up in hallway. Made to feel like they knew but didn't care. They may be the highest end hotel in downtown Pittsburgh but they are no where close to the standard of a luxury hotel. Save your money. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
