Wonderful service, beautiful hotel

So happy with the service we received at the Fairmont. Beautiful room, comfortable bed, just great all around. Can’t wait to stay again! I’d also like to commend Rachel, the Asst. They made moments into memories for my anniversary

I always expect good service from Fairmont staff. I did not expect the suite upgrade to the 20th floor with a view in two directions of the hills surrounding San Jose. We watched the sunset in our nice fluffy robes, hotel provided. The amenities were over the top including a jetted tub, television in the bathroom mirror( so you can brush and catch up on the news), hidden reading lights in the headboard, and a remote control that lifted the large flat screen tv tucked away in a wooden box, up to eye level. It swiveled so you could watch from the living room or the bed. Gotta love Silicon tech! The suite had a large living and work area had that new color palate of orange and a little mid century feel like I've seen on HGTV. It was large, like 1200-1500 square feet with a vaulted ceiling. I love plugging in my devices into the lamps. I need that at home. We ordered room service and it came right on time. I had the gouda cheese sandwich with a tomato bisque soup and my husband had a burger. Both delicoius. We forgot there were fries in a paper cone on the room service table. You can only eat so much. There was a surprise for our anniversary! Champagne, five macrons artfully laid out on a rectangular plate and a cake was in the room when we arrived. ! It was a special cake made just for us that said happy anniversary with a logo of a pair of ice skates on it,. because I was attending Stars on Ice that day. It was lightly frosted in whipped vanilla with a real strawberry filling, very light chiffon texture, like you had just bitten into strawberry shortcake heaven. Thank you Renato, the concierge, for making this happen. After dinner in the room we did not leave until noon the next day. We slept like babies in the king bed with the white comforter. Why leave when we had everything we needed for the perfect anniversary? Great staff, good location, excellent house keeping, good food and a tremendous pastry team. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Never a bad day at the Fairmont

This is a great hotel and sets the bar over most the other brands. Beautiful rooms in the perfect downtown location. Close to everything downtown. Great service with a nice bar and restaurant inside the hotel and many places externally. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don’t judge a book by its cover.

My experience at the Fountain restaurant My wife and I have been enjoying San Jose Fairmont hotel for over 10 Years. We loved and enjoy the Presidents Club membership program. We stayed for anniversaries or some times Christmas to visit friends and family. Unfortunately my wife passed away last year of pancreatic cancer. But this year I decided to go by myself and celebrate our anniversary on May 4 to remind me about the good times i had in your wonderful hotel with my wife. So before checking out I decided to have breakfast at the fountain Restaurant. As soon as I got there I was greeted well but once I got to my table the Waiter took my order and once he checked my first and last name he Decided to treat me differently. (he was Filipino) He said, oh your last name is Barraza so I said yes, then he walked away. I wasn’t even finished with my breakfast I was barely half done when he Decided to bring me my check. So he threw the checkbook on the table and walked away.. I felt so offended and humiliated that I didn’t even finish my breakfast completely, so I signed my check receipt and left him four dollars tip... That was the last experience at your hotel. I am reconsidering making reservations for May 10(Business trip) I don’t think i will be going back to the Fountain restaurant until waiters can change that attitude. It's a nice place to stay, very clean, friendly and professional. The location is close to SJSU and downtown. The hotel valet parking is easy and convenient. Also, there are restaurants nearby the hotel. It is easy to get food by walking to these restaurants from the hotel. The wi-fi is not free. They offer wi-fi service by charging about $20~$30 per day.
