Disappointing in Every Way

It had been 8 years since we last stayed here and we were really excited to be going back! Unfortunately, the resort seems as though it has not been renovated since we were here last. The rooms and the resort overall were worn looking, paint chipped, security cameras dangling by a thread; so disappointing. But the pool area still looked great, so we were hopeful! There was NO enforcement of social distancing or sanitizing at the main pool area or anywhere else in the resort. The pool bar was crowded like there was no pandemic. We did not feel safe due to the lack of Covid safety enforcement, the bar area at night was jam packed. People walked around the resort and elevators with no masks. I complained to a manager (he was of slight build and short, sorry I did not get his name) at the front desk about the lack of enforcement of masks and social distancing, he basically told me to F off and leave if I was unhappy. I was in shock, never have I been spoken to that way. I also complained because I had specifically phoned the hotel before booking to ask if they were allowing locals access to the pool area, since it would affect social distancing and the young lady assured me that they were not allowing locals access to the pool, therefore the pool area's would be less crowded, well that was a lie. Overall, Scottsdale is a wonderful city to visit but the employee's at the Fairmont need to be better trained to interact with guests and there is no excuse for the lack of enforcement of the Covid guidelines. The view of the mountains though is still breathtaking! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The Adventure Buddies stay at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

The Adventure Buddies had a great time staying at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Arizona. We enjoyed their Pumpkin Nights celebrating Halloween. They did a fantastic job decorating their front plaza, fireworks, many photo ops, carnival rides, s’mores, Spook Easy, pies, other goodies for sale.. We also enjoyed the water slides and all the pools, the rooms were very nice. The only thing was the price for the food and drink was on the high end for us. But overall an incredible stay ending with a fishing derby in the lagoon where we won! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Has gone way downhill

We have stayed at this property numerous times. The last 2 were not 5-star experiences. For $400 per night this hotel is overpriced and has terrible service. This trip we requested a rollaway for our 17 year old son. After driving 13 hours we opened the door to find a crib. The doorbell is hanging off the wall. They only give housekeeping service every 3 days. Yet we got 2 single use coffee cups, no extra towels and 1 small bottle of shampoo and conditioner. For 3 people for 3 days. And it’s dirty. Outside our patio there’s trash. Cigar butt, broken glass, dirty napkins, dirty used silverware. We have asked 4–yes 4-times for them to clean it up. After day 4 it’s still all there for us to look at on our patio. Scottsdale has a lot of great hotels. This is expensive and far from great. Stay somewhere else. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lovely stay, great service, disappointing food

This was our fifth stay at the Fairmont Princess for my small family and we had another wonderful visit. Our room wasn't ready at check in, but the front desk graciously moved us to a different building with a great view. We spent most of our time at the pools and enjoyed all the Halloween decorations. We also went to the Pumpkin Nights event the first night. My son thought it was great, but it got crowded quickly and we didn't feel comfortable staying. Andrea at the Well & Being spa gave me an amazing massage and we experienced great service throughout the resort. The only big disappointment was the food. We always find the on property restaurants to be very lacking for vegetarians. This trip the menus were even more limited (probably due to the pandemic) and the quality of the food was poor, especially for the steep prices. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Couldn’t be more disappointed

This is an old property that is in need of a HUGE makeover. It’s not because of COVID. The food, accommodations, comfort.....a zero. Same food at every restaurant. Including room service. And it was terrible. So plan on spending $30-$40 on an Uber to try to eat something decent. The staff was friendly. Beyond that, I have nothing nice to say. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
