Great service! Great staff!

Feb 20th, 2020

We had a really fantastic and enjoyable stay here at the Marriot North in Fort Lauderdale. The staff at the restaurant was just impeccable, a special mention to Dimitri and Melania C. whom were always there for us. Thank you TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This is not a Marriott

Feb 10th, 2020

The check in staff is very kind and friendly, that´s it, everything elese is bad, the rooms are beyond repair, filthy carpet, the worst matress I ever slept on, sliding doors that do not close and let all the noise and air in, ant invasion in the room, etc. we stayed for a week with my family (It was the last week of the year so everything around was sold out). I can go on and on, but this hotel doesn´t even deserve my time, please read this and stay away from this place, the only thing that can save it is if they just implode it. Still a Good Place to Stay

Feb 6th, 2020

We have stayed at this hotel three times in the past 3 years. We keep returning because, even with a few negatives, over all this is still a good hotel to come to. We were in a concierge room, which has a lot of space. There were plenty of outlets and lighting in the room. The mini fridge and the coffee machine came in handy. The mattress was very comfortable and we slept well. We found the room quiet and we did not hear traffic, even facing the highway. There is an in room safe and plenty of room in the closet. My only complaint is that the set up of the room, which is more modern, has open shelving. There are only 2 small drawers in the room, so you have to put a lot of your stuff out in the open. The housekeeping was very good as well. The bathroom is a good size with a large walk n shower. The water pressure was adequate and we never ran out of hot water. There is a vanity and sink outside of the bathroom. We had the breakfast in buffet in the dining room every morning. The staff at breakfast are exceptional, especially Dimitri. You get a good choice of fresh fruit as well as your usual selections of yogurt, pastries, muffins, etc. I was also very happy with the egg station for eggs to order. There is a free shuttle at the hotel, which can take you around the area, I think within a 3 mile radius. There is a small plaza near by that has mainly several chain restaurants and a movie house. Other than the plaza nearby, there are not a lot of restaurants in the area, and nothing upscale.(We tried the restaurant for dinner at the hotel one night and we were not impressed at all!) You are far away from the beach because the hotel is inland. The beach is too far for the shuttle service. They do have a good deal of free parking on the property. We never had a problem getting a spot, even when it was busy. If you have a car, that is very convenient because it did not take us too long to get to the beach, when we wanted to spend the day there and it allowed us the freedom to go to other areas with a good selection of restaurants. The elevator issues were not really a problem for us, however we were here on vacation and we could be more flexible with our time. We would always give ourselves an extra minute of time to use the elevator, knowing that one or two of them were out of order. It never took us much time to get an elevator. But we did have several uncomfortable encounters with staff because they have to use the same elevators to get room service carts back and forth and maids taking their large towel/housekeeping carts around the hotel. It meant that instead of the service elevator, they had to use the regular elevators everybody else was using. The staff need to be told to move the carts over in the elevator to make space for guests, which some of them did not do for us when we had already been inconvenienced by the elevator situation. Regarding the pool area, the staff need to make a better effort to maintain it. During our previous stays In this hotel, we loved their large pool and hot tub. This time we found the pool not so clean. There was some small debris floating around in the water that had not been picked up during our whole stay. We also heard from some of the guests that the heater needed repair. Mostly we found the pool quite warm, but there were 2 days at the beginning of our stay when the water was cold. The gym which is adjacent to the pool was great and they always supply it with bottled water and fruit. The last thing I want to tell you is that most of the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Tyler, Carrington, Luiz and Andreadee were really good people to deal with. There was one lady on the desk one day who was not pleasant, so I waited to speak to someone else later on to deal with an issue and I my problem was solved. Overall this is still a good hotel to stay in and I hope, when they get a few of the glitches out of the way, we will return again next year. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

It has challenges

Feb 5th, 2020

The elevators are still being renovated. The restaurant just changed it's menu and wine list. It was recently sold and is going thru transformation. That said. It is very convenient but not cheap. The rooms are spacious and parking is covered and free, TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Anniversary Trip

Jan 31st, 2020

Front desk staff very friendly, before arriving I contacted the hotel to see if an arrangement can be made for my husband and I celebrating our anniversary. When speaking to the property they referred me to Fedlen a front desk agent who’d decorate the room. Not only did she do an amazing job she’s the sweetest. Her hospitality is amazing, there was no additional charge. We did tip her for her hard work. Breakfast at the property is good, and the checking out process was very smooth. I would recommend this property. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
