Bait and Switch

Jul 17th, 2019

Okay… to be fair, this place had its pros and cons. I'll start with the pros. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the beds were quite comfortable. The liquid soaps in the bathrooms smelled incredible, and I really wish they sold them in the gift shop; I would have bought some. Another perk was the noon check-out; very nice... no rush. Also, the night clerk was kind enough to offer us a room facing the Space Needle for aesthetics; very nice of him. Now the bad... I left this place feeling like the victim of a bait-and-switch. All the reasons I selected it were turned upside down (probably to empty my pockets). The website says they have a shuttle to the cruise piers; they just don't tell you it’s $8 per rider. They say they have breakfast; but, whoa… hold on there, slick... that'll be $21 per person! Their photo shows a nice, clean exterior; but that’s the courtyard. The hotel is actually located downtown in the middle of graffiti-central, where the homeless out-populate the guests. There were tents set up along the sidewalks, and two of them were camped directly below our window. And that friendly guest service? They literally laughed at my wife when she called to ask if they had a courtesy shuttle from the airport. For $250 a night you'd think they'd offer guests SOMETHING... but the only complimentary thing in the place was the set of foam earplugs in the nightstand; presumably to block out the noise of the nearby highway. No, I’m not kidding. I’d really like to give them a better review, but I just can’t. If I ever find myself in Seattle again, I'll stay elsewhere. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Enjoyed stay

The front desk staff was exceptional all three days. The breakfast crew was not polite or friendly Saturday and Sunday mornings. Room staff was OK. Will return to hotel on next trip to Seattle next year. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful staff. Room was clean and not cramped. Location was excellent, very near and within walking distance to the space needle and several other attractions. Great customer service from the hotel staff. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Quick Vaycay

Hotel is well kept, nice lobby and restaurant area. Parking garage had easy access. Halls and room was a little dark and gloomy. Could give an impression of being old and/or dirty. But once we got settled in we felt comfortable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice stay

Very nice hotel to stay in after a Cruise. Very clean and the staff ) especially Carlos was great. Any thing we needed, he was there to help us. Ate at the restaurant for dinner, a little pricey, but you’re in Seattle where everything is pricey. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
