Your palace in the heart of Florence is waiting for you!

Jul 15th, 2020

We were fortunate to be the first guests to return to the hotel (palace) after opening, but so warm the welcome and comfortable was the check-in you would never know that a month prior the city was closed. Now, fully open, I cannot more highly recommend you hop on a plane, train, or walk for days, now, to make it to the Four Seasons Florence. Set in the heart of the city, with the largest private garden in the city, with fun and interesting sculptures throughout, this hotel has to be seen to be believed. The gorgeous photos on their website just do not begin to capture how truly beautiful it is. We were given a room overlooking the garden and terrace, filled with flowers and orange trees. All of the rooms are excellent, each with something special about them. Upon entering the room I was immediately struck with how high the quality of all the materials and how thoughtfully the room is designed to be luxurious and comfortable. From the deep soaking tub and strong rain shower pressure in the bathroom, to the Italian Illy espresso maker in the bedroom for perfect cups of coffee, to the bed which envelopes you in comfort after a day of exploring Florence, there is nothing better than returning to your room. Except perhaps, you might find yourself running to the gardens to swim in the warm pool and jacuzzi, with nothing else like it in Florence. The pool is like the pool of a private Italian villa in my dreams. They have ample luxurious loungers and ample fluffy towels. And, oh the service here is above and beyond. They provided a pool raft to the kids which brought such smiles to their faces, and when it broke I only had a moment to worry what to do because the attendant immediately replaced it like magic. Have you relaxed by the pool long enough? Dip through a door in the hedge and play ping pong or foosball in private with your loved ones. Wishing there was a playground somewhere in the city not too far away? Walk a few more steps through another hedge and you will find swings, slides, and a play house shaded by hundred year old trees for the kids to play under, and of course with topiaries of dolphins, butterflies, and flowers. Bring bread and feed the fish in the nearby pond. Would you like a little adults only time..enter the doors of the spa and be whisked away...(more on the spa later) Italian food is renowned throughout the world, and this hotel has secured one of the world’s best Italian chefs, Vito Mollica. We did eat outside the hotel a couple of times, at the hidden trattorias recommended by the Concierge, where the food is made by a family and the menu changes daily. Do this, they were great recommendations, but know that when you are at the hotel, this same or better quality comes to you, tailored to how you’d like. I could have eaten Vito’s cooking every day, and miss it now. One evening I asked for stracciatella, which is vanilla ice cream with dark chocolate chips, unfortunately it was not one of the many homemade gelato they had on the ready but when room-service arrived we were wowed that they had made this special for us, and gave it complimentary. I’ve stayed in several luxury hotels in Florence and Europe over the years but there really is not any competition for this palace, the team here is that good. After the first day we were greeted by name and they remembered what we enjoyed to drink and where we liked to sit. They helped my older mom and two young children throughout our stay to have an unforgettable experience. Bringing fresh fruit frozen puree around by the pool, giving them gifts to welcome them to Florence, and tailoring our visits to museums such that even with young children and an older adult we saw far more of the historical heart of Florence than I could have dreamed possible even in my college days. From whisking us directly to the entrance of the Uffizzi and to see David, in their complimentary house car, to arranging for a native Florentine tour guide who was so engaging of both kids and adults I only wish she could have come home with us, to a Concierge who knows the flow and timing of tourists and museums such that what could have been a stressful challenge to gain entry, was enjoyable and effortless. The spa is fully open with therapists like Michelangelo, who knead stone back into human form. Of special note is the Spa Director, Lucia Papalini, who’s extraordinary care took my mom from a weary foot sore tourist and turned her back into a beaming princess. She said she hadn’t felt this good in years. Thank you, Lucia! The Sodashi treatments and the natural products of Santa Maria Novella are the ones to ask for. If you want to have an unforgettable visit to Florence, this is the place to stay. They showed us a side of Florence we could not have discovered without them, and that they were so happy to share it with us. We are already planning to return! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed at the four seasons in florence after New year’s eve 2020. The hotel is decorated beautifully for the holidays. The staff gave us an overview of the hotel and grounds. We had dinner and drinks in the lovely hotel restaurant. Our room was spacious and clean. The staff really make you feel like treasured guests. The concierge helped us arrange train services. If you have a chance to stay here don’t hesitate!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Just how I like it!

Mar 4th, 2020

Above all of my picky expectations! Private. Beautiful. Very clean. Some might think that the location of this hotel is a bit too far from the Piazza del Duomo. However there is an organized shuttle bus straight from the door of the hotel to the piazza Della Repubblica, almost every hour until the evening. Personally I enjoy walking back, after the best dinners from the local restaurants, suggested by the unbelievable Concierge team. Taking the fact that hotel is only 15 minutes away from the Santa Maria del Fiore, it is an amazing walk with beautiful views to the perfectly prepared bed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful Hotel with the Best Service

Mar 3rd, 2020

I stayed with my sister and daughter for 4 nights. The pro and con of traveling in the winter (and maybe the coronavirus outbreak) is we had he hotel to ourselves. Yes a lot of rain, but this is a hotel you don’t want to leave. I’ve never experienced this level of service from the front desk, concierge, restaurant, doormen and housekeeping. Everyone treated us as if we were the only guest. The food was extraordinary. We also had treatments in the spa which were fantastic. This is a beautiful property with a garden inside the walls. You for a if you re staying in a castle . Only a 20 min walk to the Duomo or a €15 taxi. The best place I’ve ever stayed throughout all my travels ! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
