An outstanding hotel

Jan 15th, 2020

I can't say enough good things about this hotel; I had let far too long elapse between visits. Staff here are warm, sincere, and very professional. The quality and presentation of food were excellent, the housekeeping and laundry services immaculate, and the room very well appointed. There is a well equipped gym which is spotless. Whether you are coming for work or pleasure, I can't imagine a more gracious place to stay. Four Seasons Florence is on par with the best of the company's properties - Paris, London, Hong Hong Kong. Definitely make a visit. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Outstanding hotrl

This is one of the finest four seasons(and hotels) I’ve experienced. Staff are friendly and helpful and the service is incredible. Room and facilities are excellent. Breakfast and brunch were both worthwhile. Concierge can accommodate any request and were able to get us all our preferred reservations for dinner. The gym and spa are also just outstanding. The 11 acre private garden is stunning to walk through during the day or in the evening. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Royal Treatment

Jan 11th, 2020

From the moment we arrived at the Four Seasons Firenze, we were treated like royalty. I spent an entire year researching Florence hotels, reading TripAdvisor reviews, and anticipating a wonderful stay at the Four Seasons, but our actual experience far exceeded my high expectations. Upon early arrival, our room was ready, and we were welcomed by a team of fabulous Four Seasons team members who made us feel so valued. Our suite was absolutely gorgeous! High, vaulted ceilings, tasteful decor, a beautiful chandelier, and a bathroom with a huge shower and a separate soaker tub with views straight out of a fairly tale. Photos do not do the room justice, as I truly felt like a princess in our spectacular room. The bed, pillows, and bedding were the best I had ever experienced at a hotel. During our four nights at the Four Seasons Firenze, we slept more peacefully here than anywhere else on our 16 night European vacation. Truly heavenly! The view from our bedroom window was also magnificent, as we looked over the private park. Strolling through the gardens was a peaceful delight. Since we were celebrating my 40th birthday, the hotel surprised us by having an entire spread in our room upon arrival with balloons, a decadent chocolate cake, fresh fruit, water, and sparkling cider because we don’t drink alcohol. Walking into our palace with this lovely setup took my breath away and was magical. I could not have crafted a more wonderful welcome in my wildest dreams, and I am so grateful to the Four Seasons Firenze for making our trip so special. Before our trip, I had emailed the hotel to ask questions, and the marvelous Mr. Max Musto was quick to respond. After correspondence with Mr. Musto, I just knew that our stay at the Four Seasons would be the highlight of our trip through Amsterdam, Germany, France, Switzerland, and Florence. It absolutely was, thanks to Mr. Musto, his incredible team, and this ethereal property. The Four Seasons App was also a convenient way to chat with the hotel before and during our stay. They were able to make dinner reservations for us at restaurants inside and outside of the hotel, as well as call a taxi for us. We have used the app before during previous stays at other Four Seasons properties, but using the app at the Four Seasons Firenze was an even better experience. Room service breakfast was fabulous and we enjoyed dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, Il Pilagio on our last evening in Florence. With so many great restaurants in Florence, you cannot go wrong. The Four Seasons has the perfect location, within a 10-15 minute walk of the major sights. With the large crowds and hustle and bustle of Florence, we were always eager to return home to the serene oasis of our hotel at night. Sometimes we would take a cab to dinner if we were running behind schedule and then we would walk home afterwards. The location was excellent. Since we visited around the holidays, the hotel was decorated for Christmas and it was amazing. Even on the side of the hotel, “CHRISTMAS IS HERE” twinkled brightly in red and white lights, and made it easy to find our way home at night. The decor added an extra level of warmth and holiday cheer to an already welcoming hotel. We loved it! Our greatest regret was not spending more time in Florence at the wonderful Four Seasons, because four nights is simply not enough. We would love to come back again in the spring or summer to experience it all again. I am grateful to all of the TripAdvisor reviewers who ultimately led me to booking this exquisite hotel, as well as the entire team at the Four Seasons Firenze who made our stay unforgettable. The Four Seasons Firenze is by far our favorite hotel in all of Europe. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Christmas Break 2020

Jan 4th, 2020

The Four Seasons comes in two parts - the Palazzo and the Villa. In the middle are the gorgeous gardens. As we were there during the winter season, it is/was cold so come prepared. When you’re out and about in town - and frankly if you are not then you are missing the point of Florence - it can get bitingly cold and at night when the wind is up bitterly so. All that said when we were there the sun was out everyday so whilst cold it wasn’t unpleasant. The welcome at the Four Seasons was warm and friendly and service throughout impeccable and unstinting. Front desk service was magnificent helping us sort out our itinerary even though we could have planned ahead a bit better ourselves. Our rooms were at the smaller, more intimate Villa but we opted to have breakfast at Il Palagio (see separate review) over at the Palazzo - enjoying the cold refreshing walk between buildings. The breakfast splits into various types from the standard buffet with its different sections to a la carte and other options in between. The buffet is good in its own right but do order from the a la carte if you have the chance. Any of the egg dishes are frankly superb - I particularly loved their Eggs Benedict and their fine herbs omelette with prawns in a light truffle sauce. Service at breakfast was warm, friendly, spot on and seamlessly smooth with our drinks orders remembered from previous days. The rooms were comfortable and well maintained - housekeeping doing a great job of making the rooms feel refreshed and on the ball enough to realise when we were out for breakfast or away in town. Perhaps a little too cosy would be my only small gripe as having to have suitcases out can be a bit limiting - hopefully easily fixed with a little more wardrobe space. The Four Seasons occupies a sizeable plot in town which allows for beautiful gardens. Even in the height of winter, wandering the grounds provided a sense of wonder and magic. The grounds divide up into distinct areas from the trimmed hedge quads to winding path lightly forested hillocks. The whole is scenic and meditatively calming. Needless to say they are also beautifully maintained - during the right season I imagine it can be a riot of colour although we were impressed with how deeply green everything was given the season. Amongst the different shades of greenery you’ll also come across the various sculptures dotted around the grounds - most quite modern and quirky but not at all out of place. The Palazzo is also definitely worth an exploration with its museum like feel, grand staircases, ballrooms and if you get the chance a quick tour of the rooftop to take in the views. We were blessed with blue skies during our whole trip so well worth it. All in all a very enjoyable stay and great hospitality - am looking forward to returning in warmer weather.
