Decent but not great.

Feb 17th, 2020

We stayed here over New Years. The location is ok, with the entrance on Market Street. Very close to shopping and Union Square. The only downfall with the location is that there are tons of homeless people outside of the hotel, some of which are very aggressive in getting what they want. Just ignore them the best you can. The rooms are nice and clean, Four Seasons style. The beds are very comfortable. The decor is ok, nothing special. The staff at front desk were nice but not too personable. The deduction in a star came from the bar/restaurant downstairs. We ordered quesadillas and chips and salsa, and it took over an hour to get any of our food. The waiters were not all that friendly. At least we had some nuts to tie us over until the meals came. We got a good weekend rate for the hotel, 350 a night or thereabouts. Sometimes I see the nightly rates for the same hotel room over 1000 a night. This is definitely not a hotel worth that. For that price, stay at the Ritz or the Fairmont, much nicer hotels in my opinion, and in much better neighborhoods. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Loved this hotel

Feb 9th, 2020

For some reason we always arrive either late at night or very early in the morning and this was no exception. Arriving early the hotel moved quickly to accommodate us and was able to check us in giving us a much needed bed. Reception is of a nice human scale providing intimacy and personality and the darker decoration accentuates this. The front desk staff and the concierge were wonderfully helpful and knowledgeable. We took a junior suit for the extra space and it was definitely worth it, allowing us to reside comfortably with lots of luggage. The decoration was tasteful and elegant contemporary using a grey pallet, very calming. We didn’t use the gym but it is huge, spread over three floors. It is open to the public but guests get free use during their stay. The bar and restaurant are also of a nice size using lots of tactile wood. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My Four Seasons SF experience

Feb 1st, 2020

It was an amazing experience from check -in to check-out. The attentiveness of the staff was highly appreciated. They went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable, and every request was met. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Average At Best

I was here on a business trip. When I first arrived my room was on a low floor right above a loud busy street. I asked to move rooms and did. The rooms are very small and outdated for what you pay. I usually stay at Hyatt in SF and pay half the price for a much nicer hotel and room. Plus Hyatt has an amazing lounge for high tiered guests. The gym at the four seasons was the best part of the hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice Hotel

Jan 21st, 2020

Only stayed one night, but we enjoyed our stay. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The hotel was still beautifully decorated for Christmas when we visited on New Year’s Day. My only complaint is that their parking garage and valet are incredibly hard to find. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
