Service Supreme

Mar 20th, 2020

We were in San Francisco last week and spent 4 nights in at the Four Seasons. From the time of our arrival the staff was very professional and welcoming. Housekeeping was exceptional and anticipated our every need. We did not go to the dining room because of the evolving situation but we did spend a little time at the bar where we shared a delicious burger and extraordinary carrot cake. Whenever we approached valet they quickly called transportation and were extremely helpful. Even though the hotel has gone to digital newspapers, they honored my request for a paper. All in all great experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful hotel in downtown San Francisco

Definitely recommend this hotel - the location is very convenient on Market Street and anything you might need is likely within walking distance. Rooms are wonderful and the staff is just terrific, as with any Four Seasons property. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Decent but not great.

Feb 17th, 2020

We stayed here over New Years. The location is ok, with the entrance on Market Street. Very close to shopping and Union Square. The only downfall with the location is that there are tons of homeless people outside of the hotel, some of which are very aggressive in getting what they want. Just ignore them the best you can. The rooms are nice and clean, Four Seasons style. The beds are very comfortable. The decor is ok, nothing special. The staff at front desk were nice but not too personable. The deduction in a star came from the bar/restaurant downstairs. We ordered quesadillas and chips and salsa, and it took over an hour to get any of our food. The waiters were not all that friendly. At least we had some nuts to tie us over until the meals came. We got a good weekend rate for the hotel, 350 a night or thereabouts. Sometimes I see the nightly rates for the same hotel room over 1000 a night. This is definitely not a hotel worth that. For that price, stay at the Ritz or the Fairmont, much nicer hotels in my opinion, and in much better neighborhoods. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Loved this hotel

For some reason we always arrive either late at night or very early in the morning and this was no exception. Arriving early the hotel moved quickly to accommodate us and was able to check us in giving us a much needed bed. Reception is of a nice human scale providing intimacy and personality and the darker decoration accentuates this. The front desk staff and the concierge were wonderfully helpful and knowledgeable. We took a junior suit for the extra space and it was definitely worth it, allowing us to reside comfortably with lots of luggage. The decoration was tasteful and elegant contemporary using a grey pallet, very calming. We didn’t use the gym but it is huge, spread over three floors. It is open to the public but guests get free use during their stay. The bar and restaurant are also of a nice size using lots of tactile wood. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
