Spectacular 4th birthday.

We had a wonderful stay. Staff is exceptional. Attention to kids was really important to our enjoyment. The hotel is spread out. We had a great stay and would be happy to come back. We would really like to explore the coast more on our next visit. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We loved our stay here. Very comfortable and clean studio room, landscaping is well maintained. The staff are very friendly and helped us with the best local restaurants and attraction. This is our second visit here, we were very happy! Nice paths for walking around the resort for exercise and for relaxation. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful Four Seasons

Dec 2nd, 2019

The experience manager Amanda, is very customer-service oriented and professional. We really enjoyed walking the trails, swimming, and the yoga classes offered at this resort. Coffee and tea was refilled daily and we used the business center to complete work. The single room is extraordinarily large and had everything we needed to cook a Thanksgiving dinner. Self catering - Four Seasons Style!

Nov 26th, 2019

After several great experiences at the Four Seasons Mauritius, we were keen to try a new Four Seasons adventure, and a week in California escaping the wet and cold of a British winter provided the perfect opportunity. We arrived late evening after a long and frustrating journey via LAX to be welcomed warmly and checked in with the minimum of fuss (the manager even ran outside to check the make and model of our hire car as I was too exhausted to have registered anything other than it was red!). You can order groceries online from the local supermarket, Vons, who will deliver to the reception, and everything had been put away in our villa by the time we arrived meaning we could make ourselves at home very quickly. The Residence Club Aviara is a collection of "villas" (single level apartments in two storey blocks) with a central reception with spa, bar and restaurant, and two pool complexes - one at the reception and the other up the hill next to one of the villa complexes. Whilst the latter was more convenient for us, being close to our villa, the main pool tends to be more lively, and has the added advantage of being close to the other facilities, although food and drinks are available at both. Sunscreen, water, towels are liberally provided at both and the restrooms have an extensive range of amenities and grooming products. The villas themselves contain a well equipped kitchen area, and open plan living / dining area with separate bedroom and ensuite bathroom. There is a washing machine and dryer in a cupboard and a separate shower room (there is a sofa bed in the living room so the villas can sleep up to 4). We found the room very well equipped, comfortable and clean with good quality pans and knives (rarely the case in self catering accommodation!). There are restaurants available on site, one in the main reception area, one at the golf club and one in the Hyatt hotel. We only tried the main restaurant in the reception area - nice salads and burgers, relaxed rather than fine dining. Service was very good and an issue with my meal (steak ordered rare but delivered medium) was dealt with swiftly and well by our server. There is a small spa (three treatment rooms and a small relaxation area) - nice range of services and the treatments are lovely. I had a facial, massage and manicure and was impressed by the quality of the products and professionalism of the therapists. Carlsbad is a good half hour drive from San Diego itself, but close to beaches, some nice shopping areas and malls, and the resort is set on a hillside next to a lagoon so there is plenty of space to walk or run around the property itself. Whilst quite spread out, and set on the side of a steep hill, there are buggies to take you around if you'd rather not walk or drive yourself. Vons supermarket is less than 5 minutes away, and I found the selection and quality to be impressive (and as mentioned above, you can order online and they will deliver to reception). Finally, what really sets Four Seasons apart in our experience is the staff. Everyone we met was warm and friendly, greeted us by name, offered assistance and genuinely seemed to enjoy their job. I have heard time and again from Four Seasons staff that it is a very good company to work for, they enjoy their jobs and feel they are well looked after - and this really translates to a positive guest experience. We had a relaxing stay here with a great balance of independence and the fabulous Four Seasons service when we wanted it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
