Traveling to Maui with friends, awesome stay

Jun 1st, 2020

What can you say, it's the Four Seasons. Flagship of hospitality. I feel that people miss the point with Four Seasons. The appointments of the resort are nice but it is the leadership provided to the team here that is the most valuable. For example: I spoke with an older gentleman that told me he was a life long local in the lobby. I asked him why he was always so happy to meet guests and he stated that leadership made him proud to work for the company. He said that the team felt supported and because of that they could literally move mountains. I was staying with friends this trip but I will come back in the future. Invest in your people, it makes all the difference. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Thank You!

We last visited with our two young boys in August 2018, at which time we experienced some disappointments which were unlike what we had ever experienced our prior 3 visits. Our love for the FS Maui runs deep, and we decided to make the long trek from Ohio to try again. We were celebrating my birthday, our son’s birthday, and our 20th wedding anniversary. We honeymooned there 20 years ago! Our visit in February 2020, our 5th one, was beyond exceptional!!! Our boys were welcomed with the special kid amenities in our room that made them grin from ear to ear. We had champagne waiting for us one evening to celebrate our anniversary. Everyone greeted us with a smile and truly made us feel like we were the only ones there. The room was pristine and stunning! It took our breath away! Our boys loved the Kids for All Seasons - the staff there are like no other - truly loving and exceptional! Thank you for taking such great care of our boys during the day they attended. While they were there, we went to the adults only pool. We arrived at 9:00 and there was only one chair available at that time. But we put our name on a waiting list and had two chairs within an hour. Connor at the Serenity Pool took great care of us! Thank you! We also used the FS Maui shuttle which took us to the Shops at Wailea. The shuttle driver (I wish I could remember her name) was prompt, polite, and so sweet! She always had a smile on her face! Thank you for taking us to dinner! On our last night, we were taking some family photos just by ourselves, and the gentleman who takes photos for the resort stopped on his way to something else and offered to take our photo. Thank you for taking the time to stop and just offer us your services. Those family pictures on our cell phone were unbelievable!! We will always have those beautiful pictures and memories. We know there are so many resort choices on Maui. But trust us, there’s a reason we can’t stay away from the Four Seasons! The views, the service, the atmosphere, and the Aloha spirit will make you want to return too! Thank you Four Seasons Maui for welcoming us back and taking such great care of us! We look forward to our next visit at our home away from Ohio! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Four Seasons Disappoints

Mar 22nd, 2020

We stayed for six days. On the plus side the room was lovely-large with seating area and fifth floor quiet- and with one exception the staff was truly kind and helpful. Two things on the negative side. The food was pretty ordinary and if we had gone to stand alone restaurants in the hotel we would not go back. That holds for all their restaurants save Ferrarros. Now for the other negative and to us it was a big one. Keep in mind that the hotel has 320 rooms we were told with an occupancy rate of 30% when we were there the week of the 15th of March as Covid -19 had limited travel. We learned the day before we left for Hawaii that my husband, a university professor, would have to teach his spring courses on line. He brought his computer and lecture notes. On our second day there, I asked M., who managed the registration desk, if there was a quiet place in the hotel where my husband could work at his computer recording his lectures. He needed a small table and a chair. The business center was out as guests came and went there and our room was out as I was in and out and conducting my own business on my phone. We asked for a tiny area-the size of an old fashioned phone booth- that was quiet and where he could work several hours each day ANY PLACE in the hotel. We were told that was absolutely impossible and if he wanted a space we would have to pay for an extra room. I even suggested a corridor outside the empty ballroom area and was told that would not work either. My husband ended up recording in our bathroom simply because M. was unwilling or unable to figure out a work around. So much for The Four Season's pulling together with all of us in these unusual times. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

What a gorgeous hotel. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Views are stunning. Excellent place to go. Maui has some of the best things to do. You absolutely must rent a car. Going to this island without one is a huge mistake. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
