Excellent Pre-Trip Service!
Aug 10th, 2020
We will be arriving at the Four Seasons Punta Mita this upcoming Saturday but felt like writing a review even prior to trip! The pre-trip concierge help has been exceptional. We've traveled to Four Seasons resorts all over the world including all of their Hawaii resorts, and Punta Mita service is already "On Par" with our past Four Seasons experiences. With COVID, many things are different than normal (closed, altered, less numbers available, etc.) but the gracious, kind, positive and patient concierge and spa personnel have gone out of their way to help me find fun activities and reservations for my family (husband, 3 adult daughters and 1 son-in-law) despite the circumstances. They have been very responsive even with multiple multiple email questions and have never made me feel that I was asking too much. It's been a delight working with them pre-trip! We are looking forward to our first trip to Punta Mita and will write a full review upon return! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Never visit after COVID. Go to St Regis.
Jul 21st, 2020
The purpose of this review is to exhibit what a terrible experience we had while staying at the four seasons after they reopened post Covid. I don’t know how they operated before Covid, but you can NOT take a chance on this property after. I had only ever stayed at the st Regis, but because of an issue with the area opening we didn’t realize St Regis would be open as well. We have highlighted the below issues that the property has only offered no apology for the 5 HOUR delay in check-in. Could you imagine traveling 8 hours only to arrive AFTER check-in and you can’t go to your room?! Then the fact I found multiple cockroaches in our ROOM and they didn’t even apologize is beyond comprehension. Moral is DO NOT STAY HERE. go to the st Regis you will NOT be disappointed. Service: as you can see in my exchange on the app, I requested 8 bottles of room to be sent to the room Saturday night. I stayed up for 4 hours waiting for the water and it never arrived. Because of this I was forced to drink numerous mini-bar beverages. I had to request 8 because we had been running out constantly. I called about 5-7 times and never received any water. I finally spoke to the front desk the next morning and they told me that they "thought I meant the plumbing was out in my room". How is that even possible? Wouldn't it be even more of an emergency that I didn't have plumbing during my stay? On that same note, we ran out of clean towels the entire time because they only would bring 2 each day. We also ran out of toilet paper. Bugs: we saw various bugs throughout our stay. Most shocking was the 2-inch cockroach that I found upon waking the 2nd morning. I have attached a photo. Check-in: We arrived 2 hours after check-in at 5pm. Not only were all the rooms not ready, but when I was told the rooms were ready I was first brought out the golf cart only to find out that they weren't ready. I then went back to wait in the restaurant for the room with the rest of the group. At check-in while sitting in the lobby, we confirmed the EXACT breakdown of who is in what room and what rooms were required with what beds. They confirmed that was expected and what was possible based on bookings. Then I was told my room was ready so I was sent to the rooms. First, they took me to room 712. I was already unpacking and 30 minutes later (around 6pm) Greg Willsey called to say that the room was actually his. I then had to take my own stuff down to room 702 (which broke the handle on my luggage) only to find out again the room was wrong and it was 2 double beds. 701 was for Ms. Dreyer and was correct (although they still had to wait 3 hours to be let into the room). I then had to wait an additional 90 minutes with no where to go while they promised me the room would be ready. I was then finally taken to room 813 around 8pm, which forced me to miss my own reservation at the restaurant by over an hour. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Well Done Four Seasons!
Jul 15th, 2020
After considerable thought and discussion among myself, my wife and two teenage daughters, my family decided to embarked on a vacation stay at the Four Seasons Punta Mita from 7/3/20 - 7/10/20. We had stayed there three times prior, however, we were naturally concerned about vacationing out of the country during the Pandemic. I have to say it was the best stay yet, no regrets at all. The staff was so professional and all the protocols for safety were what one would expect from the Four Seasons! They arranged for a SUV pick-up at the airport. All guests are checked for temperature during check in. They had a new modern dedicated phone app to make sure all communication and servicing of the room was safe. All restaurant menus were electronic and tables were at very safe distances. I was able to work out every day at their fitness facility. The staff maintained social distancing and cleaned each piece of equipment the moment I was done. We never had to leave the secured grounds of the resort, as every thing you would ever need was there. My wife and I were even able to take advantage of the multiple walking trails. When we needed something from the outside, the concierge immediately got it for us (my daughter forgot her earring cleaning solution). For a week, I had forgot what was happening in the world and was able to enjoy dedicated time with my family in a beautiful environment. Well done Four Seasons, I remain a loyal customer. Staff and accommodations are top rate. You can't beat the sunsets. The cleanliness is great and you really do feel like you are appreciated. Been going to this property for three years and I never tire of the experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great Resort... But Short of Expectations.
Jul 11th, 2020
This was our first bigger trip after some quiet months of travel, and we were really excited about it. Overall it was a great trip, but not quite up to expectations based on past FS visits and being a company employee many years ago. Highs -- Staff overall is fabulous. Employees had great attitudes and were happy to be back at work. Gina at the Concierge desk in particular was really helpful and friendly with making some restaurant reservations. We had one of the oceanfront rooms and the views and sunsets on the bluff above the ocean are remarkable. Dining and pool options are great. Food was typically good, though a notch below some other Mexican resorts I've visited. Prices, while always high in a setting like this, didn't fall into the 'gouging' category that I've experienced at many really high-end Mexico properties. I also felt very comfortable with hotel's efforts with sanitization, so I wouldn't have any worries about that if that's a 'traveling during a pandemic' concern for you. Lows -- The A/C wasn't working properly in our room. Even after sending engineering to make an 'adjustment', it wasn't right and the hotel pushed back as if my expectations were off. So a word of warning to those used to sleeping with A/C like we are in Texas --- the lowest setting in our room was 68, and even after leaving it at 68 ALL day to have a cool room at night, the temp inside at 11pm was *75* degrees. I slept really poorly, then it was 73 at bedtime the next night. We managed to get it as low as 69 one night after engineering came and miraculously canceled out the 68 minimum lockout, but I know that the room A/C wasn't right despite what the hotel was telling me. There is no excuse for 75 degrees being the coolest you can get a room when it is 84 degrees outside and then blaming it on "the weather." My home A/C has no problem getting down to 65 when it's 100 outside. I didn't sleep well and they didn't seem to care. That's a fail. The hotel has opened all pools to all guests right now to help space people apart, but I think this is really unnecessary given how many pools and how much space there is. As a result, we were enjoying a peaceful afternoon at the adult pool when a bunch of kids and families that didn't seem to have any respect for other guests came into the adult pool area and were jumping in, loud, etc. Defeated the purpose of an adult pool and ruined the vibe. There is a river pool and a big oceanfront pool --- why not go there? I don't think this was the right decision. Finally, there are some food/beverage credit discrepancies between what the FS company website says and how the hotel interprets them. I basically had to go back and recreate my reservations process and prove what I saw when I booked, which I sent last week to the hotel for a reimbursement, but have heard nothing back after about 4 days. So if management is watching, please check your front desk/reservations email inbox (I was in room 402 from 7/2-7/6). If really excited about this stay, we would've returned in a couple of weeks. As a result of this stay, we changed our flights and are going to try Chileno Bay in Cabo instead. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
