Clean room....nice that it doesn't smell like pets

Feb 18th, 2019

This was a nice clean room; older motel. We wanted a King bed which the only King bed is Room 2 which has a King bed and in another room leading to the bathroom (has shower/tub combo) has a queen bed and a sofa; so the room actually sleeps 5 people. There is a small flat screen TV in both bedrooms. There is one of those folding doors you can open/shut for privacy between the two bedrooms however keep in mind the king room is first when entering the room, then you walk into the queen room/sofa to get to the bathroom. There are wall heaters in both bedrooms. This was off-season and we got the room for $115 per night which wasn't too bad considering how many people the room sleeps (we didn't realize it came with the extra queen when we called to reserve it). The bed was comfortable and the room has a small fridge and microwave and coffee maker. The door handle to the room is in need of repair (hard to open and very loose). For a Saturday night stay, it was very quiet even though the parking lot was full so appeared it had no vacancies. If you are looking for a modern motel, this is not it!!!! But if you don't mind old-school motel that is clean---this would be it. You can barely see the ocean ---but it is right across the street. Try the Chinese place right next door for very delicious food but the Lounge was only open I guess during off-season the restaurant is closed. DO NOT go to the lounge if atmosphere bothers you----it's a bar type atmosphere. I wouldn't recommend children going unless the restaurant is open but the Walnut Shrimp is like 4 Star Restaurant would serve...!!! They probably have to-go food. Highly recommend the food here!!!! Find somewhere else to stay

Horrible hotel. The people who run the hotel are very rude and dishonest with customers. The maid staff doesn't even show up to clean the room after staying multiple days. When I complained about the lack of maid service, the next day the owner sold my room out from underneath me even though I had stayed for over a month due to retaliation when I tried to renew. Completely unethical and abusive to innocent customers. Stay away from them at all costs. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Four Winds is a bargain place, if thats what you want, thats what you will get. It was basically clean, better than the double priced Travel Lodge we stayed in before down the street. The family are courteous and always there that own and manage it. It was a bit funny, I had to turn off the toilet valve cause it kept running and unplug the mini fridge when it started making noise during the night, lol. All in all we slept well and will stay here again. This is the best deal in summer. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

You get what you pay for

Oct 14th, 2018

The Four Winds Motel is an older motel in a very good location in Depoe Bay, OR. My wife, son and I booked a room for 6 nights. By the price we paid (about half compared to the Travel Lodge just down the street) I didn't expect much. The room was clean, carpet was newer, paneling on walls, not a great mattress, vintage bath fixtures, etc. Amber, manager on duty for our stay was stellar. In every request we made, extra blankets, where to park our utility trailer for the week, use of an extention cord, and how to use the wall heater, she was great. Great helpful attitude, couldn't be better. This is an older motel with budget rates, not a Comfort Suites or Hilton. View is great from your front window if you are on the front side. Location is close to restaurants, shops and attractions. (Walkable) It is right on HWY 101 so there is some road noise at times, not that bad. For a place to spend the night, good value. If you want a great place be prepared to spend a lot more TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

On the positive side the room was budget friendly, but, you get what you pay for. The room was old, dark and musty. Drapes thick and dingy, bed lumpy with another dark and dingy bedspread. Although the sheets did seem like they had been laundered the pillows did not smell fresh, like they had put a fresh pillowcase over dirty greasy pillow. I can't speak for the other rooms but ours needed a remodeling very badly. No, I would not recommend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
