Wonderful hotel!

Helpful and accommodating staff! We were upgraded to a suite and the views of the city were amazing. Beautiful hotel, rooms were very clean and well kept. Turn down service every night. Parking garage next to hotel making it very convenient! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Best Breakfast Buffet in Charleston!!!

Aug 9th, 2019

We only spent one night - but great value for the hotel. FAVORITE part of our stay was the breakfast buffet! Unexpected surprise! Amazing french toast stuffed with a fruit reduction/cream cheese filling to die for. Fruit smoothies, fresh fruit, even blueberries and delicious scrambled eggs made from REAL eggs, not that disgusting fake egg stuff you usually get in hotels. Great sausages and crispy bacon and much more. Only $15 on weekdays and totally worth it. Very friendly wait staff - and manager. Bright and clean dining area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Cousin getaway

Aug 8th, 2019

Our room was small. Had intended to get a room with 2 queen beds. Ended up with one queen bed and a sofa bed. It turned out to be some of the best sleep I had the whole trip. There wasn't much room in the room, but it did have a fridge. The bathroom was very small. It didn't have an exhaust fan so it was a bit like a sauna when getting out of the shower. The staff that we had interaction with were all very nice. Parking is some what of an issue but we just used the valet. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Southern Charm!

Aug 8th, 2019

Loved the lobby with the 1920's swing jazz music continuously playing over the speaker.. Vintage olde south & full of character! My room was very neat, the bathroom was clean new marble. I've read reviews about it being too small but really it's fine unless you plan on having more than one person in at a time. Easy location for a 1st timer to Charleston. Can walk ANYWHERE in the downtown area from here within 10-15 mins.. Staff is friendly, valet was ALWAYS attentive, & our bartender made great conversation & great drinks. Always clean and shiny & steadily busy. And both the Starbucks & the Swamp Fox restaurant/bar were occupied everytime we went in or out....from looking at the reviews, Anyone that says this hotel is "going down the drain", or no one wants to stay here since its not as modern isn't accurate. It's just not their personal choice, but it is definitely not the general consensus! To each his own, but there is still plenty of traffic through this place! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Francis Marion

Aug 8th, 2019

The Francis Marion is one of my favorite hotels and event spaces in Charleston. It is conveniently located on the corner of Calhoun and King Streets overlooking Marion Square and is walking distance to just about anywhere on the Charleston Peninsula. This hotel is very big and grand from the big lobby with the high ceilings, to the multiple ball rooms and meeting spaces, to the rooms. This hotel works very well as an event venue and I have attended many great events here and have never been disappointed by what the Francis Marion offers. This hotel is also really good for business purposes as there are many great spaces and rooms to hold meetings. The staff here is great and accommodating and will go out of their way to make sure that you have everything that you need. Overall this is an awesome hotel that has everything.
