It’s a very convenient hotel

Third time of staying in this hotel and this was by far our best experience. Having had a problem with our room on our last visit, I specifically requested a king bed room with a lake view and that’s exactly what we got. Breakfast was very good and we were also able to enjoy the concierge lounge where again breakfast was good. Only criticism is that Marriotts seem to be determined to have the smallest narrowest baths but for the length of stay we had it didn’t bother my wife too much. Impressed that there were plenty of towels which also makes a change. Staff were helpful and room was very clean. Definitely recommend and will return. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I always stay at this Marriott when visiting the area, whether for business or pleasure. I probably have been staying here for 20 years or more. I still love this hotel: the location in the Rio Center by the lake right next to a great selection of restaurants all within a few minutes walk; the friendly and attentive staff; and the above average Concierge Club on the 10th floor. But the rooms are getting seriously outdated and are in great need of a complete remodel. I know this is extremely expensive but I would hope cost-effective. This is a great hotel and has been for a long time. I hope it can stay great into the future with the needed remodeling. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Six week later I am billed another night on an invoice dated today

In mid November we stayed for 2 nights. Upon arrival they had already charged my account. The rate was inflated $169, when the walk in rate was $129. The reservation was wrong, despite having to use a travel agency and having the email confirmation. I was billed several different times on my visa, several different amounts, and was told nothing could be done until a manger came in Monday. Here we are 6 week later and I receive another email invoice for a stay today, with an AMEX card listed, and a credit going to my visa. I checked my account and I was billed again! How incompetent are the people who work here! Our room's electric frequently cut off use to a circuit breaker issue. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This is a smaller Marriott hotel that’s kinda dated but very clean and near shopping and eating establishments. I would stay here again. Concierge lounge had great offerings for breakfast and dinner and all the staff were great. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

On a recent trip to the Rockville area for business, I stayed at 4 different Marriott locations. I do this to explore and see what the many properties have to offer. This facility is excellent but they blew me away with their service. It was my favorite and I would highly recommend. My stay was a few days away and I received a welcome email from the status looking forward to my stay. Not many properties do this. These are the little things that make this property stand out. The email provided me with information about the area and the property, and said if I needed anything please let them know. The location is ideal. It’s located in an called Rio, which is a modern walking and shopping park, full of stores, restaurant, coffee, Target, hotels, a movie theatre, etc. If you need anything to eat, for errands, or entertain yourself then it’s here. The self parking is free. The facility is modern and large. It even has a lovely fragrance when you walk in. I like that. There’s a nice restaurant on site too. The rooms are roomy (silly sentence). There’s a lounging chair, desk, and frig in the rooms. The bed was like sleeping on clouds. They even offer a sleeping fragrance to put on your pillow at night — I don’t know that it works, but very nice extra. The other toiletries are what to be expected. The shower was okay. I was greeted very kindly, making for an excellent start to the stay. They recognized my status, asked if I needed anything, and provided me with all the information I needed. The service started great and continued to stay great or even better during my 4-day stay. The best part came on my first night when the staff brought me a plate of goodies to my door, just because! Complements to the GM. Again, this is not something to be expected, but what separates them from other properties. I’ll be coming to the area again for work in the future.
