If my memory serves me right I recently completed my tenth stay at Galley Bay covering the Christmas and New Years holidays. So I am a fan. The staff and facilities did a tremendous job of being COVID compliant. Mask wearing, sanitizing and socially distant behaviors were very consistent. (Can’t say the same about some of the guests, but it was a small number). The rooms, grounds and housekeeping team have done a great job. I do wonder where the ducks went. Seems to be a mystery. For those of you who have been there before the TeePee Bar and Gaugin are as good as they’ve ever been. Some of the team from prior visits are still there and they are just as welcoming. They think of you and treat you like family. Shouts out to Kerian and Natasha for making everyday special. Similar to the Gaugin team. Service levels were great and the food was very good. My feedback on the Seagrape is not nearly as positive. Service levels were inattentive, slow and more often than not inaccurate. This was consistent across all meals, all days. We had meals there at least twice a day over a 10 day stay. The sample size for my observations is large enough. In addition, incredibly important, the food was not good and the menu pretty much the same with the exception of Christmas Day. For example I’m a beef person. I had the steak offering 5-6 times during the stay. The quality of meat and the preparation was bad and I often left the most of the meal each night. I had a similar experience at Ismays during the returning guest dinner. When I offered feedback the response was a shrug of the shoulders and “ok”. There were some Seagrape staff that I should call out as an exception to the generalizations above. Ariana, Sandy C, Risa and Bridesphine were tremendous and should be held out as role models for their peers. I realize that the resort has only been reopened in the last few months and that the team is just starting to come together. I’m am hopeful that they will return to their prior level of excellence. Dream Engagement For My Now Fiancee

I visited Galley Bay last week with my girlfriend and her parents. The trip from start to finish was superb. The staff were much more friendly that other hotels I've been to in the Caribbean and the service was first class throughout! I was sad to not be able to overindulge in the buffet breakfasts as I normally do but was impressed with the breakfast menu - I worked my way through all of the different varieties of eggs and sweet treats but the vegetarian roti was my personal favourite. The rooms were honestly some of the largest i've ever stayed in. We were in a beach front room and it was to die for, a true Caribbean paradise. Spending the days sipping rum cocktails, lying on the beach, relaxing and jetskiing, I would do anything to be back there right now! Early on in the trip I told the management I planned to propose and they were very accommodating. They supplied some bottles of champs and a picnic rug to visit a romantic spot that looks over the whole hotel. When we returned they had done up the gazebo at Ismays with romantic flowers and repainted it. A special thank you to Ernestine and Derek for setting up the surprise, Kurt for setting up the gazebo and Shawntay for doing the drinks! I hope to return to Galley Bay one day to relive all the happy memories. Also thanks to all other staff including Dayton, Vaughn, Andrea D, Cedric, Keison, Kurt, Tina and Iva for making it such an unforgettable trip. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

In this difficult times it was great to escape to a tropical paradise. The hotel has a lovely setting and from the moment you arrive you know you will relax. The food was excellent throughout, the staff are totally charming and efficient. The beach is clean and the resort benefits from having limited public access. The room was what you hope it would be but maybe a few more bathroom assessories could be added. A thoroughly enjoyable stay over the Christmas and New Year period. Do your the island as some lovely sites to see, especially the English harbour area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
The Perfect COVID escape

This was our second visit to Galley Bay. We chose it this time because you do not have to leave the property and we wanted to just escape for a while while remaining safe. The size of this property, the safety of the staff, and the food make it the perfect escape from COVID. The hotel was less than 40% occupancy, we met virtually everyone staying there. Beach is beautiful and offers plenty of space to chill. Food was very good and the staff was excellent. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Fantastic Christmas and end to a dodgy year!

An absolute fab time! The staff are so friendly and amazingly kind - they were so appreciative and happy to have tourists back after not working for several months. We felt safer there knowing all the tourists had had the same PCR tests as ourselves. Also the staff were doing temperature checks, wearing masks and there was sanitiser everywhere. There were 3 restaurants to choose from and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. Admittedly the service can be fairly slow but it's the Caribbean vibe and once you accept it, it's absolutely fine. Relax, you're on holiday! Our beachfront rooms were fantastic and the beds the most comfortable we've ever slept in! We did a sailing excursion with Captain Sean and Freestone who were so friendly and lovely to spend the day with. The chicken lunch that Captain Sean cooked for us was amazing! The trip included a snorkelling trip and although the sea was a little rough, we still managed to see quite a variety of fish including a massive barracuda called Charlie! Cedric manages the hotel and always makes an effort to get to know the guests and makes them feel very welcome. We cannot wait to return and hopefully for longer next time! It was just the tonic we needed after an incredibly busy but stressful year. We loved it! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
