Newly Renovated

This hotel has been an icon of Louisville, but was getting a bit out dated. They are spending a lot of money to renovate the entire hotel and adding new restaurants and bars. It looks amazing. The staff throughout were warm and service minded. Requests always tended to quickly. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Dirty Room...Bad Service...Charged Twice

My job had a military ball at the Galt House. Mind you, we’ve had several balls there, and every occasion was wonderful. Unfortunately, that was NOT the case this year. First of all, the entire site is a construction zone (to no fault of their own). I stayed in the executive suite, and when I arrived, the first thing I noticed was a refrigerator in front of the counter and sink. It was practically in the middle of the room. Apparently, the old refrigerator was removed and a new one was replaced. But the new fridge was TOO big to fit under the counter area, so they simply placed it IN FRONT of the counter sticking out. But I was too tired and I had to shower and get ready for the ball. Then I noticed that the room was not vacuumed; there was green glitter ALL over the floor in the entryway, the sitting room and the bedroom! I thought, “Unbelievable!” But I was exhausted having worked that day and prepping for out of town guests and family to arrive I pressed on without complaint. When I went to shower, there were NO wash cloths. So, I washed my body with a hand towel. Still, I told myself to not complain...yet. Went to the ball, and the room was decorated well and the food was GREAT...but the service was SO bad. I had to flag down a server to get family members food-still, we didn’t complain. However, when I checked out and saw that I was charged TWICE, that was the straw that broke this camel’s back!! After going through ALL that, I couldn’t take it. I called and the desk clerk and desk manager acted as though they didn’t even care. Sad....extremely poor service. My love for the Galt House is forever changed. These two employees were great. They were very helpful, great personality, very friendly. Very much people persons. Gault House very honored to have Amy & Chico greeting Tour Buses at informing you to your room all Restaurant snack areas. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We recently had a conference at the Galt House and I received great service from Ronnie who set up our meeting room. He was exceptionally helpful. Also Barbara Smith, Joana, and Geodean were awesome keeping our meeting room refreshed. It's hard to get good service, but these individuals were great! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Nice hotel, nice room but don’t be fooled by pics

Stayed in room 202 and there was construction right next to it on one of the restaurants. The room was nice but there wasn’t a leisure chair as described on the web site. I didn’t mind the room since we where only there for the night. I did make the reservation a week ahead of time and received several emails asking if I wanted to upgrade the room. I did not upgrade and if we where staying longer I would have. What would’ve been nice would have been if they advertised that the parking was x amount of dollars and ten dollars more for valet. Definitely would have been a five star if not for these issues. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
