A Little bit oh Heaven on Earth

Apr 15th, 2019

Wow! We just returned from a vacation of a lifetime. We had the awesome opportunity to vacation in Puerto Vallarta’s only 5 Star “Hotel Mousi”. Where do we start… let’s us start with our Butler “Carlos Miranda” he greeted us at the front of the resort with a big “HOLA” and his hand over his heart signifying “Hello from the Heart”, and 2 flutes of cold champagne. He then escorted us to our ocean view very well appointed room, where the was another bottle of chilled champagne, fresh fruit and a fully stocked mini bar. He went over every detail of the room with great pride and detail. Carlos explained to his role during our stay which included taking care of any & all our needs. He made our dinner reservations, arranged our transportation, made sure we had the best locations at one of the 3 pools on property or at the beach. He checked on us periodically during the day and quickly became part of our family! Our Concierge Emily was extremely helpful with many of our day to day items, she always had a big smile on her face and was ready to assist in any way should could. The restaurants are Top Notch! Food was delicious and very well presented, each meal was presented as it’s own piece of artwork! There was live music at all locations, the flute, trumpet and saxophone played in various locations all day long. Breakfast at the Terrace - what a way to start your day, the food was delicious and nutritious, you could order almost anything just as you liked. We were alway greeted with the Mousi “HOLA”, The Manager Miguel and server Mateo knew what we wanted before we did, the entire staff was a pleasure and made our mornings a blessing. The Roof Top (where do we start) the Manager Omar is Top Notch, his staff was amazing, attentive and responsive to all our needs. The menu was very diverse, (there was something for everyone’s taste). The pool was amazing the view was unbelievable! We met many new friends at the Roof Top Pool! Bocados Steak House, the meals were fabulous, the chef always prepared something special for me, he went above and beyond! The Manager Roberto always made his way over to us to tell us about the best cuts of meat for the night and let us sample the “soup of the day,” the waiters were all very professional and responsive, a special shout out for Esteban & Martin. The Hiroshi Japanese Restaurant, what an amazing place and the selection was beyond magnificent. This is a dining experience! The staff took the time to explain in detail each item from the ingredients to how it was prepared. The coconut cake was my favorite dessert at the resort. Andres the Manager was wonderful, he made us feel as if we were the only people in the restaurant. He is a kind gentleman, he finds the best in his staff, we witnessed several times mentoring his staff. The service was awesome, it is a dining experience so make sure you take it all in. Room service was included and had a great selection. We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary while at the Hotel Mousi. Boy were we treated like ROYALTY! At breakfast were received a large fruit platter with “Happy Anniversary” scripted in chocolate. At the Roof Top we’re we’re greeted with Mimosas, dinner at the Hiroshi was specially planned by the Manager Andres and prepared by the chef what a dining experience. It was amazing! Carlos our Butler decorated our room with rose petals, balloons, flowers, chocolates and a beautiful bottle of champagne. The following night Omar the Manager at the Roof Top planned another special dinner for us. The area was roped off, the entry way had a path of rose petals and candles that led us to our private dining area overlooking the ocean, the sunset was fabulous. We danced and had a very romantic evening. Thank you Cecilia Bastos (General Manager) for all you & your staff did to make our 40th anniversary a lifetime memory. (We already plan on renewing our vows with y’all on our 50th wedding anniversary) The accommodations were wonderful, paddle boats, canoes, snorkeling, hiking even bird watching. The tram service between the locations was always available and very friendly. There was construction going on, but that is progress, we found many spots on the resort that were tranquil and beautiful. We were at the Garza Blanca “Hotel Mousi” for 5 weeks. Long enough to see the good, the bad and the ugly. Truly this resort is nothing but GOOD in fact good is not a strong enough word our stay was EXQUISITE! Not only did we meet Top Notch staff we met some very Top Notch people, we are now all friends. We are already planning our 2020 reunion. Were do we end? Well Carlos our Butler truly went above and beyond, as we were getting ready to check out we realized our airline tickets were not what we thought we had purchased, Carlos jumped into travel agent mode got our flights arranged so we could leave on time. He was my “Super Hero” thank you for all your assistance. To the Management at Garza Blanca & Hotel Mousi, your employees are your greatest asset. The service they provide, attentiveness and response is like no other in your industry. We own 6 other time shares and Garza Blanca & Hotel Mousi by far have our only five star+ rating. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of us! Till we met again “May God hold you all in the palm of his hand and keep you all safe, happy & healthy” TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Incredible...

Apr 15th, 2019

We chose this resort to celebrate our 20th anniversary...we splurged and spent more than we typically would and we don't regret it a single bit. Based on reviews we decided to choose an oceanfront room as there is noisy construction happening and am sure you would hear it from your balcony..I heard it in the spa..which slightly took away from the experience. However being oceanfront we heard nothing but the ocean. Stunning views and tranquility. We traveled with our 9 year old and found many other families there enjoying the pool and beach. I loved the location..quiet and calm. We chose this resort based on previous reviews that mentioned no music! It was fantastic to lay poolside or beachfront with no horrendous music blaring all day. Was completely relaxing ..except for the odd scream from an unsupervised child..but you cant control other parents parenting ..or lack of ;). This being said...a group of 200!!! Descended upon this tranquil resort and their over the top partying made the screaming toddlers much more inviting. The resort is not to blame for this but it took away from the zen feel of this gorgeous property. The service is absolutely incredible. Everyone we met was happy to help you.."my pleasure " was said often and they meant it. The food!!!!! The food was phenomenal. As a cook I can appreciate every individual who made every meal decadent. Top notch..from the breakfast buffet to poolside to room service to dinner.....we were spoiled. For the service and the food and the peace and quiet of the pool and beach..we will gladly return and tell everyone we know about this hidden gem. If there was one complaint...we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and we didn't receive any sort of acknowledgment:(...saw balloons and cake for birthdays...but was hoping to get some kind of acknowledgment However if you book through Costco...they give you champagne and strawberries upon arrival :) which was a nice touch. Overall this was the best resort we've been to after 15 years of traveling and highly recommended...thank you Garza Blanca and all of your hard working staff! We will see you again! WONDERFUL TRANQUILITY

Apr 13th, 2019

The Garza Blanca area is a long time refuge from Vallarta's more frenetic Zona Romantica and the Zona Hoteleria. The beach is isolated and quite enjoyable. The food is delicicous and we highly recommend the lucious deserts, especially the baked Alaska. Prices are higher than average but for wealthy travelers a good choice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Kind and Thoughtful Staff

Apr 10th, 2019

This is my family’s second trip to Garza Blanca in the last 16 months. Aside from being a beautiful, meticulously maintained resort, the staff is just wonderful. This review is specific to our most recent experience this past March. We have 3 children between 5 and 8 and for a few hours each day they went to the kids club (which they loved - Monica is the best!! My kids just loved her..i’ll get to that later though) which gave us adults a few hours to relax. So with those hours we camped out at the panoramic pool which is less crowded than the main pools - this is where we met Jose Miguel. Over the course of a few days, Jose got to know us, our family and really took care of us. He was attentive, kind, personable, and genuinely cared. After mentioning to Jose how great the drink was, he mentioned that the bartender, Pedro, had just won a major bartending competition in Puerto Vallarta. I told Jose that we needed to see for ourselves and test his creativity - so i asked if Pedro would surprise me with drinks containing Mezcal, no added sugar, and not too sweet. So for context - i eat at some of the best restaurants in Chicago and have had some stellar cocktails - Pedro is the real deal - so creative, fantastic combinations, and i think he enjoyed and appreciated the challenge. Was just fantastic. Between Jose Miguel and Pedro - they really made our experience special and we are just so appreciative. These guys work really hard though - and with all-inclusive packages a lot of people don’t tip but that doesn’t get passed along to the staff as it you might assume - so don’t forget to show them some love. As far as the kids club goes - Monica is just amazing with kids. Whatever she did, she won them over big time and my kids looked forward to going to the kids club each day. We also hired her to babysit so we could eat out one night. A bit pricey through the hotel, but worth it to assure they were in good hands with someone they were excited about. Last thing - the hotel offers a package where one of the chefs will cook a 4 course meal for your family in your room. Alvaro, the executive chef for Boca Dos cooked for us. All i can say is WOW. He was fantastic - and the experience was worth every penny. We plan on going back to Garza Blanca next year for a 3rd time and can’t wait to do it all over again!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Awesome Property, Fantastic Food, Outstanding Service!

Apr 6th, 2019

Overall, our stay at the Garza Blanca was an outstanding experience. It has something for everyone. If you're not a family, I'd recommend staying at the adults-only sister hotel (Mousai) located on the same property. The Garza Blanca is scheduled for a huge addition. Once complete, it will be massive. We saw the site plans and while impressive, I'm not sure we'll want to stay in a property that large. Pros: - Beautiful, well-designed property with lots of activities - 3 pools + ocean provides lots of swimming options - Outstanding service all around with personalized concierge service (Shot out to Carlos and Gigi!) - Large rooms with equally large terraces - Outstanding food with plenty of options; if you don't want a buffet, you can get table service at every restaurant - The room service availability is a huge plus - The adults-only hotel (Mousai) is fantastic and the rooftop is spectacular - There is a tour promoter on site which makes it easy to book other activities not available in the all-inclusive package Cons: - Very serious about selling time-shares which we didn't appreciate - A bit far from the city; however, Uber is available and a bus service is available just outside the property - Property was a bit too large for our tastes - When something goes pear-shaped, it takes awhile to get it rectified - Most restaurants require reservations; if you're unable to get a reservation, go to the restaurant any way as there was always space available when we were there - The adults-only hotel (Mousai) is more LGBTQ-friendly than the other areas of the complex - Didn't appreciate the men/women dress code policy difference TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
