A beautiful place to visit, but not much close to walk to.

Jul 22nd, 2019

This is an amazing facility, with shops and restaurants located in the hotel, under a beautiful atrium that makes it feel like you along a Texas river walk. It is a nice location, and the rooms are clean and spacious. The only downside is that you are 30 minutes from both Dallas and Fort Worth, and if you don't have a car, it is expensive to ride anywhere (other than the $5 Grapevine trolley, but it is limited in the times it runs). Nice Getaway

Jul 21st, 2019

We visited for a weekend. They had a huge conference going on but it did not affect our experience. The staff were gracious. The restaurants weren’t crowded and the service was top notch. We will definitely go again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fun for family

Jul 19th, 2019

I had to go to Dallas for a work trip and decided to stay here and bring my 11 year old with me to have a bit of fun, and neither of us was disappointed. The waterpark was great - enough room to not feel overcrowded. We both loved the lazy river, and had a snack and a drink (for me) at the outside bar and the service was timely. PS The truffle fries at the steakhouse are AMAZING. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Anniversary Getaway

Jul 18th, 2019

This is a very large hotel/resort. We prefer more quiet, cozy romantic places. Thought we would give the Gaylord a try anyway. It's not our cup of tea so I doubt we will go back. But even so, it was very clean, lots of activities for children, and friendly staff. Bed was comfortable. The waterpark is very small (we are spoiled by Schlitterbahn). Not much for adults except a short lazy river that takes 5 minutes to go around). Still a decent way to cool off if it's hot. We did not eat in the restaurants. They are just too expensive and we don't enjoy paying a lot for overpriced meals. The reviews for them averaged about a 3.5 so we just ate all our meals out. Sort of defeats the purpose of staying there but we didn't want to spend a fortune on meals. Left the room a little later one day and called to get our room cleaned before we left and they said it would be taken care of but no one cleaned it. Disappointing since this was a romantic anniversary getaway. If you like lots of noise, activities and big resorts you will like the Gaylord. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very disappointed

Jul 17th, 2019

I was here for a conference that my company paid for. If I had paid I would have been much more upset. Conference wise I felt they could not handle the people. The restaurants, coffee shops and “quick” food were overwhelmed and took forever. The pool is tiny and only holds 55 people. This is a convention center with 1,800 rooms and more than 4,000 or so guests at a time. How can you have such a small pool? Also upsetting, the pool bar and grill closes at 5pm. So when the 1800 people get done for the day and want to go to the pool for a snack and drink you can not. This is the worst Gaylord I’ve stayed at and would never pay out of pocket for this.
