Terrible customer service

Apr 17th, 2020

When in a spot during the covid-19 crisis, they were unwilling to accommodate my needs. I find that a hotels willingness to address client issues is key to a stay. Despite being quite specific in my request, and providing documentation. They still were unwilling to assist me. I encourage you to stay somewhere else. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Much improved from several years ago

Apr 14th, 2020

After disappointing visits several years ago, I tried this hotel again and was very happy to find they had renovated the rooms. I stayed at The George twice on this past trip in a room with shared toilet and then in an ensuite. Both rooms were very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good, and I will definitely stay there on my next trip. The location is excellent because it's walkable to most of Central London. Clean and Convenient Location

Feb 16th, 2020

This hotel has some great features! First, it is a straight 22 subway stops from Heathrow airport with a pleasant 10 minute walk from Russell Square station. Gracious and helpful multilingual staff and a secure place for luggage if you arrive prior to the 1400 check in time. My room had a single bed and private bathroom. Bloomsbury is a lovely part of London with plenty of places to dine at all price points. It is about a 10 minute walk to the British Museum. And your stay includes a delicious, cooked to order full English breakfast and you can have as much as you like with juice, tea or coffee. Premium jams and marmalade for your toast and cold cereal and fresh fruit and yogurt for those who want simpler fare. BUT note that there are three floors here and NO elevators or porters. If you can't manage your own luggage (anything more than carry on) then this may not be best option for you or be sure to ask for a ground floor room. And my telly had erratic reception though the wifi was good. Overall, an excellent place, VERY clean, well maintained and well heated. I would definitely return should I want to explore the British Museum again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fine to crash for a night

Jan 31st, 2020

I stayed overnight here while attending an event in London. For this purpose, it's basically perfect - really good price for a room, though it's a single bed and shared bathroom facilities. Breakfast was included though, and it was really good. The wifi was free, and worked. And the location is excellent for Euston or Kings X stations. I wouldn't want to stay for a longer period of time as sharing a bathroom would get on my nerves, but it's ideal for a stopover. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I chose the hotel for location and price despite the fact that it was a shared bathroom. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful and at first glance the room was small but clean and perfectly adequate for a one night stay. Unfortunately by the time I came back to go to bed, the concierge had left. I discovered that my bed contained crumbs and other bits and had obviously not been changed. There was no one to contact and so I had to make the best of things. The shared bathroom was somewhat bleak and shabby but the water was hot. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
