A great weekend
Sep 15th, 2020
We were supposed to get married last Saturday but COVID prevented my fiancé’s only sibling from flying up from Miami. We then decided to go on a special trip on our weekend. After a 4 hour drive, we were welcomed with a smile. The location is in the middle of an amazing park. We took a mineral bath, visited the museums, went hiking and biking. Room was very nice. The dining room was closed due to COVID. We were provided a list of restaurants that offered delivery and take out. We found breakfast sandwiches at Catherine’s next door. It would have nice if a breakfast sandwich was available instead of a lunch sandwich. We are definitely planning on visiting back as soon as possible. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Hotel doesn't honor reservation
Aug 23rd, 2020
We made a reservation on Expedia and when we got to the hotel, the clerk said he has no record of the reservation. Then we showed a confirmation, he said he doesn't have a standard room with double beds available which we needed and reserved as we were traveling with kids. He offered a deluxe room at 50% more. The proper thing to do would have been to offer whatever double room he had available at the reserved price. This was 11 o'clock at night and the hotel obviously doesn't care about hospitality. Interestingly, the hotel's own website at this time showed availability of standard rooms with double beds. So be prepared that your reservation may not be honored. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The hotel is completely out of date. Staff unfriendly not accommodating. Not worth the spend spent! They are riding off the location and the history of the park and not quality of the patrons stay. Look elsewhere TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed two nights. The hotel was clean and pleasant enough. The location however is what makes it. Set in a beautiful state park with access to a lovely outdoor pool, this was a perfect family setting. It is a horn drive to Saratoga town and other state parks with good pools. I would recommend it. Like a visit to a very wealthy grandmother
Mar 13th, 2020
Birthday visit in March. Warm welcome by Christian at early check-in at reception, who upgraded us to a junior suite-1/2 bedroom, 1/2 living room, plus lovely, old fashioned bathroom. It was a bit like visiting a very wealthy grandmother. (FDR stayed here). View was of park. Between off-season & Coronavirus scare, hotel was nearly empty. Sad, as a grand hotel like this should be bustling. Dog friendly, nice buffet breakfast included. We will go back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
