I wouldn't want to go any where else. Not to mention the varity of restaurants, stores and attractions to see. The staff is A+, always caring and making sure you have what you need. Almost like you're family as soon as you walk through the door. Room was clean, felt like I walked into a home I lived in for years. Comfortable, lovey views, and definitely our forever vacation destination ❤ TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Much Needed Getaway!

Felt very comfortable at Golden Eagle for badly needed getaway after being holed up for most of the year. Staff was very pleasant and made us at ease despite Covid concerns. Everything was very clean and because of the way the property is set up, you can enter your room without having to go through too much common area. No daily housekeeping to minimize contact, but we asked for fresh towels, toiletries, and a trash pickup which they obliged. Very easy drive to Stowe/Mt Mansfield for skiing, few miles from Stowe cider and other great spots, and we walked across the street to grab lunch at the Butcher and Skinny Pancake (VT creperie). Between the location for skiing, dining, amenities and swimming pool, rec room with ping pong, and friendly staff, we really recommend Golden Eagle if you need to end 2020 on a high note. Golden Eagle is Amazing

We brought a small group up to Stowe for the first time. I researched dozens of locations for our trip and settled on Golden Eagle. The staff was amazing, and supportive of each individual guest! They helped if people needed a microwave in the room, and allowed us to extend our trip, when we had such a good time and did not want to leave. We enjoyed the indoor pool, and the game room was an awesome addition for the evenings. Due to covid restrictions, Golden Eagle was thorough in making sure that guests were safe by wearing masks, and requiring other guests to wear masks. Since there were so many restrictions on the indoors, they helped us get an awesome bonfire going each night so we could socialize with physical distance from each other. Awesome staff, beautiful place, amazing amenities! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Unforgettable Trip

It was my first time going to Stowe, Vermont and Staying at the Golden Eagle Resort I absolutely fell in love with it!!! The house that we were staying in had everything we expected. A lot of activities were included. My whole family went including kids so Entertainment wasn’t a problem. At the Golden eagle resort there was a playground, game room, tennis court indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, and they even made a fire upon request. During our stay customers service was great, i will never forget the manager named Skylar, he did everything possible to fulfill our needs, he wanted to make sure our stay was incredible and unforgettable. Skylar was very patient, polite, pleasant and professional. I definitely will be going back to The Golden Eagle resort 🦅 TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Better places to stay in Stowe

My family and I recently stayed at the Golden Eagle Lodge in Stowe, VT and it was probably the worst hotel experience we have ever had and we are seasoned travelers. I had booked a Suite with 2 Double Beds for the Labor Day weekend and specifically chose a room with a Kitchenette. According to the website the room had a stove, coffee pot, and mid-size refrigerator. I also called the resort and the staff member (no name given) informed me that the room had a toaster. Upon checking into the room on Friday, September 4, we found that the room we were given was not what I had booked. There was no kitchenette (only a microwave, Keurig, and mini-fridge), a fireplace, and only one double-bed with a sofa bed in the living room (see photos). Additionally the room was in poor condition as evident from the fireplace and ceiling photos. I immediately went back to the front desk to inquire about the room we were given and was confronted with rudeness and indifference by the front desk staff who blamed me for the room I booked; told me that the sofa bed counted as the other double bed, and that there were no other rooms available (despite the parking lot appearing half empty). This attitude by the front desk staff and misrepresentation on the hotel website is unacceptable. Not wanting to stay any longer than necessary, my wife and I thankfully found another, much nicer, resort to stay at for the weekend and informed the front desk that we would only be staying one night, again met with rudeness and indifference. The one night we stayed in the hotel was more than enough, as the room and it’s furnishings were in serious need of maintenance and/or replacement. To cap off the entire stay, when I went to check out in the morning, I called the front desk to inform them we were checking out and after politely asking the person at the front desk to repeat what they had said about my bill, I was hung up on. Again, unacceptable behavior by a staff member. As stated above, I can honestly say this was one of, if not the worst experience, I have ever had at a hotel, and I travel a great deal for work and with my family on vacation. Additionally, given the current state of the travel industry, one would expect exceptional service in order to entice travelers to return to a given hotel. I do hope that Choice Hotels takes this feedback and is able to educate staff and update the hotel and website. Unfortunately, this will be the one and only time my family and I stay at the Golden Eagle. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
