The Governors Inn makes an ideal lodging option for those in town to attend a Florida State University football game or to visit some of Tallahassee's top attractions (like the Florida Historic Capitol Museum and the Museum of Florida History, both of which are less than a mile away). Opened in 1983 within a former livery stable, this 41-room boutique hotel still maintains elements of its past, such as the building's original exposed stable beams and the guest rooms' antique furniture. But should you require some modern conveniences, amenities like complimentary in-room Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs come standard in all rooms. However, some previous travelers bemoan the historic digs, citing the TVs as outdated and the air conditioners as noisy. And despite the lack of property perks (the hotel does not have a business center, a spa or an on-site restaurant), in-room massages can be arranged through the hotel concierge and a free continental breakfast is available daily.

Critic Reviews

Only a block from the capitol, this plushly restored historic warehouse is abuzz during the week with politicians, press, and lobbyists. It's a perfect location for business travelers and, on weekends, tourists who want to visit downtown.
