Worst stay

Nov 7th, 2019

Nice hotel but terrible experience with front desk staff and management. Carpets smells bad you’re locked in the hotel at 1am like an inmate. Breakfast is horrible. My orange, pastry, and bagel were all molded. Same breakfast nothing hot but waffles. Just bread items and old smoke salmon that had a bad smell to it. I ask staff what do they do with leftovers breakfast and valet Scott said they reuse it the next day. I read a review that mentioned florida restaurants inspections surely it was true. Governors Inn had several food inspections violations, no wonder most of the breakfast had gone bad. It’s best to do a thorough research on your hotel of choice. Worst stay in the history of hotels. Don’t stay here if you have Asthma!

This hotel looks amazing on line. We went for parents weekend at FSU. When one is charged $1,300 for two nights one might expect a certain level of cleanliness and amenities. First, there is no elevator so a Room on the third floor is not easy to access. The carpet waking up to the room is dusty. We arrived at our room to find it extremely hot, the shower is full of mold and rust. The Bathroom was not cleaned very well at all and the drain was slow. The dusty carpet continues inside. The beds, the mattresses are made from foam probably bought at JoAnn Fabrics. If you have motion sickness take a Dramamine because any movement will make you feel like you are out a sea or that you may be catapulted to the floor. The box springs have stains. The breakfast is a sad state of affairs there is a lobby area that is small and can get loud quickly. Zero ambiance. And to top it all off it is said to be hunted so we were grossed out and scared. Never again! For the positives. The location is great and staff is very friendly. If you are given room 301 run to wal- mart and buy a tent you will be better off. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Superb service. Cool room.

We stayed in a two story room at Governors Inn on move-in weekend at Florida State University. First off, the hotel is an old converted stable and reflects a bit of it's history. It is also within easy walking distance of FSU. The atmosphere was a pleasant change from chain hotels. The room was well appointed, clean, and a bit whimsical. The bedroom was a second floor loft up circular metal stairs. My son loved the stairs! The downstairs held a surprisingly comfortable pull-out couch. (I would not recommend for anyone physically challenged as the stairs to the loft were a bit narrow and twisty.) There was also a balcony. And oh, the staff! My father passed away the morning of checkout. Despite experiencing full occupancy with incoming guests, the hotel staff went out of their way to allow us the extra time to change travel plans and gather details. Not only did they extend our checkout to the last moment feasible, they offered us a quiet conference room if needed. I will never forget how supported I felt during what was a very difficult time. Bravo, Governors Inn. We will definitely stay there whenever in Tallahassee. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Florida Tour 2019

Great little quaint hotel. Walking distance to all of downtown Tallahassee. It has great amenities however parking is inconvenient unless you valet. Room was small but clean, and they provided Happy Hour and breakfast. Will definitely stay there again and would recommend it to friends and family. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The first time we stayed at Governors Inn for orientation was ok and we liked the proximity to campus and restaurants. This time was terrible. Our room was so contaminated with mold that my skin was burning. I saw later that another visitor posted about mold in the exact same room 4 months ago on Yelp and obviously management ignored it. While I was at the front desk at 10 PM trying to get moved to a non mold room, another guest was there to report their A/C was out. Next guest comes to front desk to get clean sheets. Yes, she checked into a room with dirty sheets. Management offered to refund our valet cost and room cost at 10 PM on the Friday night of Summer move in weekend and suggested we move to a different hotel. WOW TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
