Good value

This hotel was nice, nothing fancy or over the top but clean and spacious rooms were what I was looking for. It is near the highway and about 40 min from Mt. Rushmore, also surrounded by shops and restaurants which made it very convenient. The staff wasn't overly friendly but they did their job. No housekeeping or breakfast due to Covid restrictions so that was lacking during our stay but there's nothing we could do about that. Good value for the price. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent place

We were very impressed with the customer service and cleanliness of this facility. The only letdowns had to do with the covid-19 restrictions as such only 1 entrance was able to be used and breakfast consisted of a "sack lunch ". Which was a breakfast bar and a banana. Medical appointment

My 2nd stay here. Was clean and comfortable. The rooms are large. I interacted with staff members Aaron, Crystal, Steve and Vicki, they were all friendly and helpful. I was happy the pool was open, as it had been closed for repair when I made the reservation. I was then disappointed because it was too cold to actually enjoy it. Other than the pool, everything was great. I will be staying here again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Decent Stay for Rapid City

Property got hit by a massive hail storm in June 2020 and the back and left side of the hotel took a beating. Staff said many folks in the area were affected by the hailstorm and repairs were going to take a while. We had a two bedroom unit and it was quite clean and large. Matresses were in good shape. Kitchen area was kinda small, but was happy to have a full size fridge. Due to COVID, there was only a carryout breakfast which is understandable. Property only had two washers and two driers, but one washer was broken. Not a deal breaker. Pool was closed due to pool pump issue. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Horrible experience

Recently my family and I tried to stay at this hotel for two nights. We arrived well after the 3pm check-in time to discover the pool and hot tub were not working and the free breakfast was changed to a grab and go. However we were still willing to stay the night until we walked into our room and found multiple issues. The room smelled of musty microwave popcorn to which we immediately opened the windows in an attempt to air out the room. Then we unfolded the sofa bed only to find the mattress stained with urine or some other yellow/red substance. We alerted the front desk staff who was very unfriendly and were told they did not have replacement mattresses and they would have to look for another mattress from another room. Upon receiving this information my husband and I decided we would flip over the mattress but then discovered food, dirt, coins and other items under the mattress which had clearly not been cleaned or checked for a longtime. There were also no sheets provided for the couch bed. In addition, the room was full of dog hair, a used energy drink was found on the bedside table, the dishwasher was full of dishes, the room had not been dusted, and the bathroom floor had a sticky substance all over it. On top of the above items several rooms were boarded up, large trash bags lined the hallways and the halls had not been vacuumed recently. Had only one or even a few of the above items occurred we could have understood, however in the current state of affairs not cleaning a room or a very poor job is not acceptable. We left the hotel letting the unfriendly front desk man know we were not willing to stay at the dirty hotel and hoped they would do the right thing and refund our full two nights. This did not happen instead they only reimbursed us for the second night and a small portion of the first night. My husband spent 2 1/2 hrs on the phone with the American Express who contacted the hotel manager on Monday morning going back and forth trying to get the rest of our money. Needless to say we were never given a full refund due to the hotel saying we did not give them adequate time to fix the issues. Please note by the time we unloaded our car checked in and got to the room it was already 6pm. The hotel was fully aware of the items we found. Lucky Holiday Inn had a nice clean room where we stayed. We normally do not post reviews good or bad but this time was much different. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
