Bronzes, antlers, guns, wood sculptures, antiques -- my kinds of place

Jul 20th, 2019

If you don't appreciate 'old school' elegance that is more Bohemian styled, you probably won't like this hotel. However, I like the animal skins, unique artwork, bronzes, wood carvings, rustic-look furniture, and more. Most of the hotel is rather dark due to all the rich & dark colored wood used for most of the decor. The rooms were quite large, even the standard rooms. Bath rooms were large. Showers were large. Bed, bedding, and pillows were very good and helped for a restful sleep. Concierges were constantly on duty and always helpful. It is located in the historic Biltmore Village area and easy walking distance to the shops and places there. This is not an ultra-luxury location and probably needs some upkeep and improvements, but overall, it is a wonderful place to enjoy a great stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

If you want a stay where you feel like a pillow is enveloping you with comfort stay here!!

Jul 16th, 2019

My wife and I have a rule on lengthy vacations. At the beginning of the trip and end of the trip if we can we stay in a luxury hotel. This trip the beginning of our trip was The Grand Bohemian in Ashville. Rooms were luxurious great bedding. Shower and bathroom were spacious and strong shower head. We didn't eat at the hotel but it looked great. We did have a drink at the bar and enjoyed the den like chairs with a huge fireplace. We also enjoyed the art gallery. You are right in the middle of downtown but when you are in the hotel you have know idea what's outside. After enjoying the sights of Asheville it was fantastic to come back to a place that felt like a pillow was enveloping you with comfort. Enjoy! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Check In at 4 that means 4 no earlier

Jul 16th, 2019

It's a Tuesday not a weekend. The hotel staff upgraded us to a nice suite. The room is nice the floor walking in is sticky but we paid $400+ a night for a basic room. My issue is with the upgrade. There was a conference here. They must have needed our room. Sat and watched everyone else check in for two hours as I sat in the lobby. Sure the room I eventually got is very nice I'm here one night I don't care all I wanted was a room and a bed and internet. . Beware if they offer an upgrade tell them you want a room now or you too will sit for two hours in the lobby. I think the focus here is on the people attending events, get them rooms keep them happy so if you are traveling solo I would go to the WIndsor or another hotel, there are many around. For $400 you don't want to sit in the lobby for 2 hours. But I will say the room is extremely nice so if you are good with checking in after 4 PM you will be fine just do not arrive early if you do plan on not being able to check in until 4. Just know the drill if you want a nicer room and they offer you one that probably means they need your room for an large event check in and if you are willing to wait you will get a better room but the free upgrade means they need you to sit around for a long time. Just think it through and ask question that way you are prepared for what you are signing up for. Unless you are staying in the off season they won't put you up in a suite so no worries as we are a one night stay and easy call for them. The hotel is nice just look for other options I would. Beautiful hotel with outstanding service

Jul 11th, 2019

My wife and I took a side trip over to Asheville on a road trip to Nashville and Huntsville. We stayed 6 nights, enjoying the area and enjoying the hotel. The parking valets were all just great to us. The Bartenders, Chip and Brad, were fast, friendly, and made us feel as comfortable as locals. When we first arrived we were privileged to be greeted and easily checked in by Tina. She is a charming young woman, and is an outstanding representative of the elegance and grace of the hotel. She greeted us regularly during our stay, and with her friendly smile she was also an Ambassador for the ambiance of the Biltmore Village and and the hustle and bustle of Asheville. We also enjoyed speaking with Lauren at the front desk. We will be here again when we return to Asheville. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
