Great find!

May 30th, 2020

Stayed for two night. Requested a room for 2, as soon as I made reservation, I was upgraded to a larger room with refrigerator. Becky was phenomenal. Hotel well taken care of, room was clean, beds were very comfortable. Less than 30 minutes to S. Rim entrance. Great place to stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Change of Ownership!

May 25th, 2020

This hotel just sold for $7 million. It will be very interesting and exciting to see what the new owners do with the property. The previous family owned the hotel for decades. Exciting times ahead for Valle, AZ.! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great service

Apr 13th, 2020

Wow! What a great service! My family and I were tired from a 15 hour long drive and needed a place to rest and we happen to come across this place. We had lost track of time due to the time change and we ended up showing up when they closed. They were so nice about it and so understanding. Room was clean, and big enough for us. Great service from everyone! Thank you! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Small and decent

This is a great room for a single person, or if you're not planning on spending much time in your room. My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights to hike in Grand Canyon National Park in March, so we got a great deal because it was the off season. (This hotel is about a 30 minute drive from parking areas at the South Rim.) We stayed in a Queen room in the Motel across the street from the main building. It was very clean, and I actually really liked their shampoo. The area around this building is VERY dark at night. There were no outdoor lights on at all. I didn't feel threatened, but it might be uncomfortable for other people. Our room was VERY small. It had a queen bed in it, but we had to crawl into bed from the bottom because the walls were so close to the sides of the bed that you couldn't get in that way. The shower is not built for tall people. I am 5'7" and hit my head on the shower head! There was one kitchen-type chair in the room and a tv on the wall. The space on the floor was only large enough for one of us to stretch our sore legs at a time. (And we are not particularly large people.) The size of the room wasn't a huge deal to us since we were basically only using the room to shower and sleep, but if you wanted to hang out or spend any significant time in this room, it would have been a challenge. They had great customer service! The people at the restaurant were happy to fill up our water bottles and give us ice. The little coffee maker in our room didn't work, so the front desk attendant gave me a new one! I liked the rustic decor, and our room had the Lone Ranger painted on the door. How fun! And like I said, we got a great deal! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Staff, pleasant room, quiet, terrible wi-fi

Jan 6th, 2020

Found this place at the end of a long day of hiking and driving, attracted frankly by the thought that it was only about half an hour to the Grand Canyon. My expectations were not high, and the (relatively) low bar was easily cleared. The staff (and if you have read any of my other reviews you will know staff is important to me) was well trained. The woman who checked me in easily managed to score me a small discount without making it seem an ordeal. Directions to the room were clear, the room itself (second floor, in the back) was clean, warm, and inviting. There is a bar, and you can take drinks back to your room. Breakfast is not included, and frankly I thought the prices for breakfast the next day were high especially in light of the rather mediocre quality. The substantive complaint I have is the Wi-Fi. Don't advertise you have Wi-Fi it you don't. Yes, if I wanted to sit in the bar I could get a signal, but not in my room. The desk clerk tried to get it fixed, but to no avail, and I heard from other guests that it had been a problem for their entire stay. This would be a good place if you are traveling with kids, there is room to run around, a picnic area, and large rooms. You can do a lot worse, and if they fix the Wi-Fi you won't do much better for the price. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
