Beautiful Place

Jan 25th, 2020

The resort is gorgeous. No doubting that. We were given a welcome drink while checking in and quickly escorted to our room on the 11th floor in the north tower. Upon entry to the room, I headed immediately to the balcony. Oh my God, what a view. Amazing! I spent lots of time on that balcony. The room itself was also very impressive. Over the course of our one week stay, we experienced pretty much everything the resort has to offer, except the Grand Club which we figured we really didn't need. We loved the beach, the pool, the food, and for the most part, the service. We quickly learned that if you sit down a ways by the cool pool, the young man serving there is excellent. Very effecient. I wish I remembered his name. He was so good. But, we wished there was a walk up bar in the pool area because sometimes you just want to go sit at bar and get your own drink. In the pool area, they only have a swimup bar. The beach is great for swimming and snorkeling. Like many others have said, it is a good idea to wear water shoes because of to the sea urchins on the rocks. Our favorite a-la-carte was the Mexican. Again, I can't remember our waiter's name, but he was so good. The Italian and Asian were also pretty good. The people in the D'Brick buffet seemed to be overwhelmed at times at breakfast. Coffee, juice were slow coming. The sun doesn't hit the pool beach area until past noon. Some sun worshipers went to the Skybar for morning sunshine. We just found other things to do before the sun hit the pools and beach. The lack of morning sunshine seemed to be an irritant to many people we talked too. The resort seems a more Gringo atmosphere as opposed to a real Mexican atmosphere. Because we love the real Mexicana atmosphere, we will likely seek that on our next trip. But, for many. I'm sure GFA will be perfect. Buenas Dias! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beyond the BEST place to go!

Jan 25th, 2020

Where do I begin.. hands down Grand Fiesta Americana is awesome beyond belief. This is our new favorite place to go. All employees are so friendly and provide great service. The entertainment team is hands down the best.. they remembered our names from day one. Emilio and Jorge made the whole trip enjoyable. There was not a boring day or time when were talking to them and hanging out, and just enjoying all the entertainment they provided. We want to say a special thank you to them for always finding us out in crowd. We will be coming back soon and fingers crossed they will be there again. Whoever reads this and goes, please say hi to Emilio and Jorge from the Iowa crew. ☀️ TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent service! No kids!

Jan 25th, 2020

My friends and I came here and stayed a few nights. Of course the weather was beautiful and in the middle of January. The place was very clean. Every single person we met or spoke with who worked there was absolutely incredible. They were all so friendly and welcoming. Anything we asked for they happily gave or served us. I love how it’s all inclusive. We brought only cash for cash tips. US Dollar is fine, they have an atm but only for pesos. We had ocean view rooms but I’m guessing every room is ocean view? Try to not get room 213 because is blocked by a bunch of trees on the balcony so you don’t get a good view. Also the AC didn’t work well. Those are the only things I can say that would be Megan it not worth losing a star on their review. All the servers were great at every restaurant. Daniel, Fernando, Luis, at The Ceviche restaurant are awesome. David our server at the cabanas we rented was the best. And if you get a massage at the spa, get the Polynesian one by Maria. Yarel is a great masseuse too. They gave us foot massages at the cabana too. This was one of the best trips I ever had. Love love love the adults only. My friends and I took a break from our own kids and on this trip we didn’t have any one else’s kids at this resort either! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Service and Staff

Jan 24th, 2020

I stayed at the Grand Fiesta Americana with my fiance and some relatives for just 3 nights. It was the weekend after Thanksgiving 2019. The views and sunsets from the upper floor were awesome. The beds and linens were comfortable. The air-conditioner worked well. The staff were all really good and attentive. The restaurants and the food were all satisfactory, not great. The Asian restaurant wasn't so good. The Ceviche restaurant was pretty good. The pools were nice for swimming when the sun was on them. Due to location, the pools were shaded at times by the buildings. The pool menus were limited but tasted pretty good. We appreciated the constant availability of clean towels around the pool. It was funny to watch the pool contests/shenanigans and the foam pool party. We made reservations for cabanas to use near the pools. Unfortunately, some rude guests moved the RESERVED sign and got the bed all wet and messy before we got there. I regret to say that we had to ask a manager to politely relocate them and clean up the cabana for us. Thank goodness the drinks at the pool and lobby bar were wonderful. We especially appreciated the free sandwich/pastry bar in the lobby for late night munchies. We enjoyed the band and people watching late night at the Skybar. The reason why I give this resort a 3 instead of a 4 is because the beach is disappointing. Very little soft sand and no possibility for body surfing or strolling. Lots of rocks and sea urchins. If you look forward to walking along the beach holding hands with your honey - well forget it. It was really difficult to enter the ocean water or to swim in the ocean at all. We dislike the fact that there were piles of dishes stacked up outside of some rooms (and even a broken glass) for our entire stay. We had to walk around them each time we went to or from our room. It was pleasant to watch weddings take place on the property and we got to enjoy the wedding fireworks right outside our balcony. Over all - we had a wonderful time and made lasting memories. We like taking advantage of the all-inclusive options. We love that this resort is ADULT only (No screaming children around the pools). If you are not a fan of sitting in the sand or going in the ocean this could be a great choice for you. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing place with incredible staff!

Jan 24th, 2020

I can not recommend this resort enough. I only spent 3 days, and I wish it was so much more. All the staff were very attentive, but one gentleman in particular stood out. Mr Alfonso Cortez Cortez was outstanding at our dinner service. He made us feel so welcome, and passed on essential local knowledge. So happy I got to experience this place. Muchas gracias.
