Good Innsbruck Hotel, conveniently located

Feb 17th, 2020

We stayed at this hotel in January 2020, some of us as a base for skiing, some for just a break to see Innsbruck. On the positive side: the hotel staff (especially the reception staff) are very friendly and helpful; the hotel is mostly pleasant and comfortable - perhaps a few areas might need a little tlc (but that is quibbling!); the food (continental breakfast and a la carte dinner) was very good; it is very convenient for public transport (the main train and bus stations are directly opposite) and for the city centre; and a free ski bus that calls immediately outside the hotel serves a number of the ski areas (which we thought were excellent and varied) within a reasonable distance from the hotel (on average about 30-45 mins away) and was, crucially, reliable. On the negative side : the Spa was closed for renovation - no prior warning was given and during a ski season having no spa is unforgivable; the ski bus only goes out to the slopes once a day (first thing in the morning) and comes back once a day (at the end of the afternoon) - whilst this is fine for skiers that want to spend the whole day up the mountain it does not allow people who want to ski only part of the day getting back to the hotel. Perfect location across the square from the main station. Ideal for travellers using Interrail pass, wishing to explore Innsbruck. Good sized room, very comfortable & very good breakfast buffet. Staff all very polite & friendly. Easy access to funicular & cable car for access to ski & snowboarding area from the centre of town. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great pad for a skiing visit

Second time in this hotel and it does not disappoint. Great breakfast with everything you need. Spacious rooms, comfortable bar space and lovely, warm service from all reception staff. The only thing that lets this hotel down is terrible coffee. Will happily be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Definitely not a 5 Star Hotel!

Jan 2nd, 2020

It’s unfortunate that we booked this hotel thinking it had a 5 star rating. First off, their concierge was not at all helpful and not welcoming. The breakfast buffet spread was good but service was terrible. They are understaffed. Most of the staff in this hotel will make you feel they despise working in this hotel. Only the housekeeping and electrician seemed polite. Our room was not cleaned well considering we booked a junior suite. Most of the crumbs were left on the carpet after the housekeeping came to clean. Toiletries were not replenished. When we called the reception to ask for housekeeping we were advised they left early. So they had to send a bellboy to send our shampoos and body wash... will never recommend this hotel to anyone. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We visited Innsbruck after our wedding for a honeymoon and wanted a nice place to stay so booked a suite. This is certainly not to a 5 star hotel standard, I’ve been to much better 4 stars. We made them aware when booking it was our honeymoon but they didn’t even acknowledge this. On New Year’s Eve there was no hot water to shower at 6.30pm, when we rang reception to ask we were told it was because so many people were showering and I had to wait- not something I’ve ever been told before. We ordered breakfast to our room twice and both times the order was wrong and items were missing. When I rang down to ask for the missing items I was told the kitchen was too busy for me to be put through so my husband ended up having to get dressed to go down and get them himself. If you’re looking for a nice hotel, book the Adlers. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
