Great Hotel in a Great Location

Feb 19th, 2020

My wife and I have just returned from a long weekend in Rome staying at this Hotel. We found it clean, friendly and comfortable. The location was just what we wanted and in a walking distance from most landmarks. We found the breakfast to have more than ample choice and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

In need of improvements to breakfast

Feb 18th, 2020

We arrived 4 days ago and found the hotel very grand, stunning decor. We then was upgraded to a better room with an amazing terrace as it was my birthday whilst we was away. Very lovely of the hotel to provide a free bottle of Prosecco and a little cake. The spa is rather small and is not intimate as many people come in such a small area. I would recommend the hotel having people in an hour intervals, I would even pay €20 to have the spa to ourselves for an hour. The next day we was very much looking forward to breakfast however we was let down and was every day (we had bed and breakfast) the breakfast area was small and was barely stocked, felt like we was eating left overs I had to constantly ask for new food to be brought out e.g scrambled eggs, bacon as some of the trays were always empty. The staff should have kept a close eye on the breakfast bringing fresh food out when it run out but that didn’t happen, lack of service there. The WiFi wasn’t great for 1 day it wasn’t working and you have to stand in certain areas in the room to get WiFi, 2 people cannot use the WiFi at the same time in the bedroom. The manager was very nice we had a terrible meal at the hotel on valentines night and was insulted by one of the restaurant staff and the manager arranged for the meal free of charge which we really appreciate. I would definitely come back to this hotel if the standard of breakfast was acceptable could do with improvements there. Or I would stay and not eat or drink in the hotel as very over priced and the food is below average. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing Stay!

Feb 16th, 2020

Our stay at The Grand Hotel Palace. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance from most of the landmarks such as Trevi Fountain, The Vatican & Spanish Steps. On arrival, our request for an early check-in was given and not only were we allowed to check in early, but we were upgraded. The corner room was fantastic. Big open space with high ceiling, windows to two sides and a balcony opening out to face the US Embassy. The bathrooms are spacious, well appointed, modern with bath and separate shower. We dined at Cadorin and the food and service was exceptional. The staff at the hotel are friendly and very helpful. Guilia and her team at the front desk were always accommodating. Overall we had a great stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the hotel. Thank you :) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lovely hotel

Feb 15th, 2020

Me and my partner stayed here for 4 nights in February for our first wedding anniversary! The hotel was stunning and they staff couldn’t do enough for us. When the hotel found out it was our anniversary they upgraded our room and provided us with a complimentary bottle of bubbly! I would definitely recommended this hotel and will consider this place if I return to Rome! Thank you! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Awful hotel - do yourself a favour, don't book this one.

Jan 16th, 2020

If you need a good nights sleep, don't book this hotel. Because it is located very close to 'sensitive' buildings, (eg USA offficial buildings), there will be numerous noise events caused by police cars escorting people to and from such buildings - and all these journeys are accompanied by police sirens. Additionally, the bathrooms are exceedingly cold, the lifts are claustrophobically small, and food isn't up to much, and beware your final bill. Our actual stay was dealt with ok, but we allowed a tab to run for meals. We settled our bill during the evening before our departure, but on the morning of departure when we went to hand in the room keycard, they LOUDLY insisted several times that we had not paid. Our main receipt was packed in our big suitcase which had already left the building, and we had to stand and argue. Being not to keen to open up banking pages on my phone in front of a crowd of people, we had to stand and argue, and finally left the hotel saying that we would 'see them in court'. Really upsetting. ALSO, there was no hot drink making facility in the room, we asked several times, but in the end got NOTHING. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
