Surprisingly quiet location

Sep 12th, 2020

Part of the seafront in Naples has been pedestrianised and this hotel is on that part overlooking the Castel d’ovo . Naples is a bustling city famous for not always the best reasons. The hotel keeps you insulated from all of your worries, but real Naples is only a street away. A taxi rank is close by. Room prices are almost reasonable given the location and the inclusive breakfast on the terrace is first class. Dinner can be expensive unless you are very careful but as in most good Italian restaurants they are happy to split dishes which is often what we do. Again the views from the restaurant are world class even at at night. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Extraordinary position/views

This traditional palace is in a fantastic position offering great views from most of the rooms. Luxurious rooms nicely decorated and furnished. Same applies for the restaurant and roof-top bar. Service staff at the level of a five star hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Best in town

Feb 1st, 2020

I was here for a short stay with my wife. The location in town top. We stayed in room 225 which was a sea view king room. It was excellent bed. Excellent bath and tub. Excellent room and view. The service was impressive and the hotel cleanliness and decor was superb. The hotel is pricey but is worth all the money. The pictures are from the castel del ovo right across the street. Good location, terrible service, stay away.

This classic Italian hotel enjoys great views of the bay of Naples. The rooms are on the small side but are tastefully decorated. Access by car is difficult (requires going through a tunnel which is almost always clogged, can add 15 to 30 minutes), but walking to the center of town takes only 15 minutes. Service is poor, with an antagonistic, client unfriendly attitude. There are other hotels nearby; they are a preferable alternatives with same views or better. My son experienced a scary event at that hotel: the glass of his shower door exploded while he was in the shower. This is a rare, but well documented problem that happens when tempered glass has a manufacturing or installation defect. He was lightly cut by the exploding glass. In the aftermath the hotel manager (Maurizio) was horrible. He refused to help, said he could not get another room because the hotel was full (online search showed that this was a lie), then said he needed to study what my son had done. Ultimately my son had to go down to the front desk (while bleeding) to get help. Many better places to stay in Napoli. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I loved this Hotel: Courteous staff, incredible view of the Neapolitan gulf and of the mysterious Castel dell'ovo, a relaxing stay and the prime class breakfast buffet with house made pastry but most of all LUIGI!! Luigi is the first person you meet and he is an asset for the Hotel. He is funny, genuine and incredibly helpful. I will be back TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
