Amazing place

Jan 27th, 2020

This is a wonderful place. Nice surroundings, amazing atmosphere, a lot of things to do and an incredible animation team - cupido vibeteam. They make sure you’re having a good time with everything from dance lessons to aerobics to contest. And they are so friendly and chatty ❤️. I would like to thank especially Yokaina, Ramon, William, Mael and Pablo. They were so amazing and made us feel at home and part of family. The waiters - especially Anderson and bartenders were also amazing and made us feel well taken care of. I have to praise the room key/ bracelet - such a good idea 👍🏻 and the theme song of the hotel is still ringing in our ears and puts a smile on our face. We went from 27/12-19 to 10/1-20 and we were sad to leave. We had an amazing time all of us: mum 45, dad 47, boy 15, boy 13, boy 7 and boy 5. And everyone is missing the place and will definitely recommend this place. And we’d love to go back - tomorrow 😉⭐️ Thank you so much for so many lovely memories. ❤️⭐️❤️⭐️❤️⭐️ TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A Great Vacation for the Whole Family

Jan 26th, 2020

We were six people in two suites at the Grand Memories Splash. We decided to book Diamond Club and it was well worth the extra price. Our butler (Nazario) was great from booking our dinner reservations every night, to extras in room and to help my four year old grand daughter celebrate her birthday (an experience she will always remember). The Diamond Club also gave us the opportunity to sit in a special area by a pool and beach with premium drinks, padded lounge chairs and drinks served to you chair. The grand kids loved the pools, but especially the water park.Yes the resort is not at the beach, but a five minute train ride or walk takes you to Royalton to the beach. The beach goes for miles with soft white sand. We ready enjoyed the food at the Italian and Mexican restaurants. At the buffet restaurant, Diamond Club members have a certain section. Both suites were spacious and close to water park. Maid service was excellent. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The entire family loved this resort - would definitely return!!

Jan 25th, 2020

We stayed at Grand Memories Splash January 17-21st. My husband and I traveled with our 14, 13 and 12 year old sons.Upon booking, our travel agent indicated the only way to guarantee rooms in the same building was to upgrade to Diamond Club. (I was Diamond Club at Chic Punta Cana last year and enjoyed it, so this wasn't a concern for me). The travel agent got our two "Premium Diamond Club" rooms cheaper than the standard. Win win! Our flight was delayed about 40 minutes, so when we arrived - the rest of the shuttle was waiting for us and we left right away. We stopped at a couple of other resorts along the way, so it took about an hour to get there. Upon arrival, they took us to the Diamond Lounge where we were greeted by Edwin, who we worked with the entire trip. He was fantastic! They upgraded us, at no cost, to two adjacent Presidential Suites. This was great because the boys would have been crowed in one regular room. In the Lounge, we were all given drinks and snacks. Edwin walked us to our room showing us the resort along the way. We stayed in 29303 and 29302, the 3rd floor of building 29 - closest to the Selections buffet. Each suite had two doors from the hall and a connecting door between. The master bedroom had a large balcony, shower with glass door, toilet behind a door, double sink and a Jacuzzi tub. Closet space, dresser, small table and chairs and a king size bed. Through the connecting door, there is a living room with couch, chairs, end tables and a smaller balcony. Another shower/toilet area behind a door and separate sinks. In the boys room, they opened the couch to a bed and brought in a separate twin bed. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Edwin knew I liked the champagne and had two bottles in our fridge with a note, that was a nice touch! He booked all our dinner reservations, coordinated our transport home and checked in with us everyday. Download the whatsapp before you get there - it's the perfect way to communicate with them! Wasn't overly crowded at all and didn't experience any crowding with locals that I read about. We had some rain everyday, but it was always brief. Very easy, quick walk over to the Royalton side, we did it multiple times a day. We took the trolly a couple of times, but it really only saved a minute or so. Checkout was easy - Edwin had our luggage picked up and brought back to the lobby. We had lunch, then walked to the Diamond Lounge to check out, our airport transport was there waiting and we went straight to the airport (less than 25 minutes door to door!) Edwin even messaged me when we got back home to see how our travels back were - he was fantastic! Restaurants Bella Cucina: Spaghetti and meatballs was very good. Kids liked the fettuccine alfredo. The four cheese pizza was a disappointment as it had blue cheese and no one liked it. They had an antipasto bar that was a nice touch! Selections Buffet: Great location to building 29 and the main pool. Breakfast had a nice selection with lots of stations, great hash brown potato patties, bloody mary and mimosa bar. Lunch options were extremely impressive! Lots of seafood (the grilled squid was great), ready to grill meats, pizza, pasta, meat/cheeses, fruit, rice, potatoes, ice cream. Under the Sea: This was our favorite ala cart, the decor was very nice and we had a table in the corner that was a little secluded, it was great. The surf and turf was very tasty, Didn't care much for the lobster soup or tuna tar tar. But all in all, great experience. Mexicana: The chips and cheese provided when we arrived were great. Kids enjoyed the quesadillas and the red snapper. I had the beef tenderloin and it was fantastic! My husband didn't care for the steak fajitas. Diamond Club BBQ: wow! This was amazing. There was a saxophone player, dancers, open bar and lots of food stations. It felt like a wedding reception. Very nice touch. Bites: Located next to the Teen Hangout, we grabbed fries and burgers or hotdogs from there most days. The lines could be long if they were grilling up a new batch - but everything was always hot and fresh Beans Cafe: Kids got icrecream from here everyday (the vanilla tasted like birthday cake, which they loved). Good donuts and pastries too. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate too. Diamond Club Room Service: the kids ordered salmon and chicken fingers and brownies everyday. They loved it! The shrimp cocktail was not as pictured, but good. My favorite room service item was beef bourgugnon. Tender beef, very tasty! Delivery was usually 20-30 minutes, very quick. Beach We walked down to the Royalton beach each day, but enjoyed our time at the Diamond Beach. As soon as we arrived, they helped us get seats and situated. The beach was red flagged each day because of high winds and wave - as we sat near the water - a massive wave hit everyone in the chairs and soaked us all. We moved further back on the beach and drank from the Diamond Club beach bar. Great ambiance there! We ordered a couple of sandwiches from the bar, nice selection there too. This bar had some of the best service we experienced! Drinks My favorite drinks of the entire trip was anything with passion fruit! The Rebelle champagne was incredible!! Everyday I had champagne topped with blended passion fruit - so good!! The passion fruit margaritas were amazing - even better at he bars where they blended them and had fresh fruit on top (Mix Martini bar and Diamond Beach Bar). The Mix Martini bar also had great peach martinis and cosmos. Bars Mix Martini Bar (Royalton): Great location to theater and plaza. Excellent drinks. Bubbles swim up bar and Diamond pool bar (Memories, Shared) Sands beach bar (Royalton): Slowest service we experienced, but some of the best ambiance Diamond Club Beach Bar (LOVED): Loved the vibe there with different seating options, view of the ocean and great service. Dips pool bar (Royalton): Crowded, but good service. Score sports bar (Royalton): The guys liked hanging there to watch the NFL playoff game. Entertainment We found the Memories entertainment to be geared towards younger families, so we didn't really check that out. But in walking past it, we did see kids on stage having a blast. They also had a family movie showing that had a big turnout. Every night after dinner the kids would do their own thing and i'd go with my husband to the Royalton side for drinks/shows. Tip for the theater - a large portion of the upstairs seats were broken, while the fans up there were great, there were more seating options downstairs! Fire show (Royalton plaza) - Loved thisAerialists (Royalton plaza) - these guys were very good!! Michael Jackson (Royalton theater) - great to sing along and the dancing was fantastic Latin Explosion (Royalton theater) - energetic show with excellent costumes and dancers Lion King (Royalton theater) - loved the kid participation in the show, very entertaining Escape Room ($30 charge each) - my kids said this was one of the highlights of the trip!! I didn't know Diamond club got a discount, so we paid full price. My son said this was better than the rooms he's done in the states. Teen hangout - Foosball, pool, play station, air hockey. The kids tried to go to some of the scheduled events, but there was very little turnout. They like playing basketball, but were disappointed in the condition of the court and said they couldn't get a ball from the staff. Waterpark The entire family loved this!! Chairs were hard to get, but we snagged two. They loved the wave pool, yellow slide, blue/white striped slides, unfortunately the toilet bowl was closed. Kids went there everyday. Activity pool had good energy, kids liked the inflatables, DJ was always good!Diamond club pool had quite a few kids in it, but was still relaxing. Excursion Highly, highly recommend Hispanolia Aquatic Adventures. I was in Punta Cana last year and had such a great day on their snorkeling/catamaran trip - we scheduled this trip with the kids to go back again. You feel like royalty when you're out with them! I was at a very amazing 5 start resort in Mexico last year and was worried that my bar was going to be so high that I wouldn't be impressed here - but I really, really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone! My only complaint - I was disappointed by the lack of communication/response from the resort email in advance of our stay. I emailed in October, November and December with no response. I finally tried Facebook messenger in January, when they replied they told me to email them! I just wanted to confirm our 2nd room would be near us - but never had any communication. Luckily, it all worked out great, but stressed me out a bit prior to the trip. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
