Ignacio and Greg were awesome! Kept our drinks full and very attentive to our needs! Would love to return again! The swim up pool bar staff were also very fun! Loved their customer service! Jesica, our butler was nice and she booked all of our reservations! Very fast at responding! Carlos from the Asian restaurant was super sweet too! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The resort itself is nice but unfortunately the hotel manager (Alberto) lacks any customer service skills, is dismissive and has no empathy Go to this resort if you want to be treated like trash.. I refused to be scammed and talked down to I’ve worked in the customer service industry for years And this resorts attitude and unprofessionalism is beyond unacceptable. The resort will not honor your benefits, they will give you the run around and will not take any responsibility. Albertos only option was for my family to leave the resort immediately I only stayed there 4hours And it was hell You have been warned. Go to any other resort Plenty of better options Spend your money where they appreciate your business and try to assist you This resort will just take your money and give you sub-standard customer service They turned my vacation into a nightmare Thanks Royal Cancun. I'm always curious to read the negative reviews people post on here since I have been to this resort now for 6 years in a row and always have a fabulous time. Take that as you will, but here is my review for my latest 2020 visit. It's a pandemic--we all know this. Things are a little different this year and since we've been in a pandemic since March, you should expect that. Masks are required at this resort unless you are at your table or around the pool--and this is enforced. This made me feel very safe and I appreciated it. The efforts from all employees to make sure everything is clean and sanitized and to make you feel safe and secure are excellent--I definitely felt safer here than I do at home. The type of room we had booked wasn't available unfortunately, but they gave us a swim-up junior suite, which initially we weren't sure about, but ended up really liking it. The room was nice and kept clean by the maids every day, and the central location and walk-out pool was really nice. Our favorite restaurant, La Concha, was unfortunately closed due to Covid since the restaurant is so small, but the others are open, as well as the snack bar and pizza corner. Another review said the drinks needed "more booze and sugar," so I'm not sure what that person was drinking but everything I had was excellent. Advice: ask the bartender for a surprise drink and you will not ever be disappointed. Also, keep in mind that a dollar goes a long way. If you can afford to come on this trip, you can afford to give people a dollar for providing you a service. The activities were a little different this year because of Covid, but all were enjoyable. Poolside karaoke, poolside bingo, salsa dance lessons, water aerobics--all a lot of fun. They also have beach volleyball and other more involved activities, so if you aren't lazy like me, you have those options too. A new thing this year was a free tour offered through the entertainment staff. A shuttle takes you to the International Shopping mall at the JW Marriott where they have a tequila tasting and a ridiculous amount of jewelry and souvenirs, but the lady there was very nice. You then go to the observation tower which takes you up 260 feet above Cancun, which was really cool. After that they take you to the Puerto Cancun mall for an hour. Highly recommend this tour as it's only about 3 hours, it's free, and a great way to safely see more of Cancun. This resort is smaller compared to some that you will see, but I really enjoy that. You can walk anywhere on the property within a few minutes and everything is beautiful and well tended. Everything is lush but also feels comfortable and like a second home. The thing about this resort that really makes it shine is the people who work there. Never have I ever met such caring, friendly, and genuinely kind people. What keeps me returning to this resort year after year are these amazing people who now feel like a part of my family. Whenever we return they always say "Welcome home," and that is absolutely how it feels. I want to take some time to recognize these people. It's a very long list, but I want to make sure they all get recognized. He goes above and beyond to ensure everyone is having a great experience is SO friendly and helpful always. All in all, we love this resort and were so happy we got to come here in 2020. Second stay, love this hotel!

This was our second time staying at this hotel in the Lupita villa. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. They followed new protocols due to COVID that made us feel safer while on the resort (i.e., wearing masks while inside when not eating, buffet being served to you, extra time cleaning room). The beach is so beautiful too! Overall, we had a great time and would go again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I was here from 08/23-08/28 with family. The staff are incredible, particularly at the main buffet. They check on you every 10 minutes, make sure you have everything you need, immaculate immaculate service!! The food was very very limited in options, due to covid no doubt. But when I say limited, I mean truly. You can get full but if you’re a vegetarian or have specific dietary preferences, this all inclusive is not for you. The two restaurants that are open are good - the Italian in particular. The hotel itself is older, but very well taken care of. The weather is temperamental, out of 5 days there, only 1 was suitable and enjoyable for swimming in the sea. The beach is clean but the waves are pretty crazy most days. The pool is open and the bar is working, everyone seems well taken care of there. We did feel safe and all guidelines due to covid were strictly followed. Entertainment is limited, again this is a very small hotel. Overall do recommend just beware of the very limited food variety. Special shout out to the maids who clean the rooms - they’re doing a phenomenal job! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
