My wife and I went to this resort for 4 nights in February to celebrate our anniversary. We had never been to Cabo before and chose this resort because it was off the beaten path but had positive reviews and looked like a great place to relax. The resort definitely exceeded our expectations. We were upgraded to the Presidential Suite since the room we reserved had some plumbing and electrical issues, so that was a plus! We chose the All-inclusive plan and were very glad we did. We ultimately ate lunch at each of the pool bars/restaurants during the day. All were great with a few different options from one to another such as Sushi at one, Burgers at another, while a 3rd focused on tacos, but all shared a core menu with plenty of options and very good. The chicken nachos were truly the best I've ever had. Most mornings, we ate breakfast at Anico, and the buffet was amazing with an omelette station, fresh fruit and anything you would want. We at dinner at each of the restaurants, but outside at Anico was our favorite. You can get the fresh breeze and hear the waves off the ocean. The appetizers were average and the ribeye steak was tough, but the fresh seafood was amazing, especially the Seabass. Also we dont usually order chicken, but their Honey Garlic chicken was incredible. We went to the spa for a massage, and it was so good we scheduled a 2nd one the next day. Marsha and Enedina were both excellent. The Fitness center was large and had everything you could want including workout classes for a small fee. We took a mountain bike excursion with Gilberto and Diego, and they were great hosts. Gilberto too a cactus to the foot, but he toughed it out and took us all over the property including seeing the sights from the top of the hill, and also looking out over the sand dunes at the ocean and seeing the tracks of Mountain Lions, Deer, Roadrunners, and other animals along the way. I think our favorite activity was watching the whales just off shore at the beach. Although you cant swim in the Pacific at Grand Solmar, the beach is beautiful and goes for miles. We saw probably 100 Gray Whales over the course of 4 days, many o which were no more than 50-100 yards off shore. I never got tired of watching them. We took naos by the pool each day, and grounds were very well maintained. I highly recommend this resort. Keep in mind it is about a 30-40 minute shuttle from town, so if you are a busy body, you may not like this resort as much as Lands End. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Had a wonderful time at Rancho Grand Solmar San Lucas. We had initially booked at Solmar Resort but due to maintenance was transferred to Rancho for 2 days. This was a nice upgrade and staff treated us extremely well. Special thanks to Erick, Gilberto, Diego, Lupita, Fany, Fernanda, Jose, and Selena for making our stay extra special. We enjoyed partaking in resort activities such as blackjack, poker, and volleyball. The resort also had two super fun slides as bonus. Thank you so much for your hospitality. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This place is beautiful. The crew from start to finish were eager to help with big genuine smiles. Emilio at the front desk was excellent, Lupito, Fernanda, & Fany on our guided bike ride were not only professional but engaging and lots of fun! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great for Families, Excellent Service, Quiet

We had a great vacation here, largely due to service, kids activities, and facilities. The trip from airport in shuttle was seamless, check in quick though there is the perfunctory sit down with concierge and time share meeting breakfast option (we skipped). Dannia in concierge was great answering all our pre-trip questions. The pool facilities are great for kids including two large water slides and water park for younger kids. We used the kids beach hut at first, and it was great for activities like pottery painting, bracelets, etc.. Itziel, Diego and Lupita were awesome as they became our kids’ best friends. Our older kids loved the kayaks and paddle boards and the salt water lagoon was perfect size for them. Later we used the kids club and it was a great way to get kids out of the sun. The physical location is great, next to main lodging with playground outside. The room was huge with lots of space, tents, slides, and tables for crafts. We highly recommend the cooking classes (pizza, cookies) where kids went to restaurant, learned how to cook, then back to kids club to play while awaiting their food. We also recommend the Thursday kids movie night option. Our kids had a blast with games, movie and piñata, while we had dinner at the Anica restaurant. Viry and Fernanda were great with kids. The main restaurant Anica had decent selection, food was good and bar great, but not all wines were in stock. The restaurant near lobby had a theme every night, we went to Taco night, our only disappointing service as they forgot to bring some main courses, but gave us free copas to account for the mistake. We ate a lot at pool bars, The Aqua Grille next to kids water park and slides was great for burgers, Ricardo became my favorite bartender. The sushi bar by Adult pool was also good. We spent most breakfast at the Deli which had great selection of drinks and muffins, croissants. Service there was excellent. The only considerations is there is construction going on next door to expand resort. There was a little noise from bulldozers but once near the water park I did not notice anything. Other reviews have noted this, but did not affect our vacation at all. The location is remote out of town, but we did take free shuttle to other Solmar hotel in town for a dinner m, easy to do. We actually lived the location and beachfront location compared to other Cabo spots, but we are a young family, not looking for night life. What we did not expect is the whale watching from the beach. The constant whales just offshore was awesome, lots of them spouting, some breaches. All in All we highly recommend Grand Solmar at Rancho San Lucas. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We had another wonderful stay at this beautiful resort. We were on the 4th floor in bldg K and had great views of the ocean and sunsets. We were in a 2bdrm Penthouse. It had a full kitchen with oven, no dishwasher. As always, the staff is amazing. We had very attentive service from Baltazar. He kept an eye out for our every need (towels, umbrella) and made sure to be there right as happy hour commenced to make sure we got our order in and also in time to get one more round in before the happy hour ended. We didn't have to go out looking for him or walk up to the bar ourselves, he was keeping an eye out for the guests needs and we really appreciated his great service. We attended the owners breakfast and timeshare presentation. Carlos was very nice and informative. The offer was a good one and it was tempting but at this point in our lives, it didn't make sense for us. (hopefully we won't regret it when we are both retired) We declined the offer and there were no hard feelings (we appreciate that!) We went for a hike! Itzel was a our great guide, she made sure we had water and she had a walkie talkie to stay in touch with the home base. There are hiking trails that are marked but we stuck mostly to the "fire trail". If you go on your own, take a hiking pole or stick to swat down the spider webs that tend to span across the trail. Itzel took care of that for us :) Our hike took 1hr 20 min and we did about 3 miles. Nice views of the golf course and I intend to do more hiking on future trips. We had dinner at Anica, Bacari and Picaro. All great experiences - just be aware that at Anica, if you order a stand alone salad thinking it is a dinner salad, it isn't. The size is more like a side salad but the charge is like a dinner salad and it wouldn't be enough for a dinner. At Picaro, however, they do offer a salad as a starter - which I believe is intended to be shared, but I ordered it for my dinner and it was exactly what I expected for a "dinner salad". Our Pasta theme night at Bacari was very good. Service was great at all the restaurants and I would like to try Picaro again for a breakfast, something to look forward to for next time. The pools are very nice, the entertainment staff is always ready to make sure the guests have fun. Lupita always has a smile on her face! There was no obvious construction or construction noise during our stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
