Great Holiday at the aptly named Marine Palace. Great food, amazing beach and the Kids club was a particular highlight, so much so our 6 year old is refusing to go home. Thank you all for a wonderful week.😎 TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
A week in the late summer sun

This was an away trip with my girlfriend & chance for us both to re charge the batteries & to relax. Having been to Grecotel Group Hotels in the past I was not left disappointed by this venue. Everything about the Hotel was excellent, the accommodation, location, food & all the staff, who are the Hotel's jewel !! Nothing is too much for all of the staff, I would have no hesitation in going back to stay at this wonderful location. The local village of Panormos is also only a short walk of about 10 mins away & is a gem of a place to visit with local restaurants & bars. And the little train that takes trips out from the resort is well worth going on, we went off out to the Paraschakis Family Olive Oil Factory, Melidoni Village, Melidoni Caves & Reptisland The World of Reptiles. Reception Staff Let this place down.

Upon arrival at the hotel we were asked if we wanted to immediately go for lunch as the buffet was ending soon, so we did. Upon our return the reception they were very disorganised and kept having to check what they were doing and saying. Eventually we got signed in, but no welcome drink or warm towel as others have reported. We were told to wait out front to be taken to our room, we waited for 5 minutes and then went to check with reception who said someone is coming. Another 5 minutes passed so we asked if we take our own bags to our room and we were told no because of the stairs. The porter arrived and took us to our room. The grounds and pools are very well maintained although I felt the beds were a little crowded for my liking. One evening in the restaurant I took a knife and fork from another table and I got told not to by one of the staff. Be aware you are not aloud to wear flip flops to dinner. In the final few days we noticed a leak from the floor above us leaking from above us. We reported it to reception who said that would look into it. Nothing happened. We told them again and they said that they had fixed it but we argued that it was still leaking. It turns out the leak is from the jacuzzi in the spa. We spoke to what looked like a more senior manager on reception who apologised for the poor experience we had and promised that they would update us the next day, nothing. So we were not overly happy that we paid for a garden view balcony that we were unable to sit out on. All in all this is a nice place, the water park is great, the food is good, they have a good selection of premium drinks. They just need to employ some staff that actually care about the customers and perhaps have a little personality. We went out most evenings because the whole atmosphere seemed very sterile and we seemed not to have any adult entertainment during our stay? Be aware that this place has quite a few stairs. We arrived to find we had been allocated a room backing directly onto the water park. As we are a slightly older couple we asked to be moved to a quieter room which was quickly sorted out. We were told as long as you are happy we are too! This sets the tone for this lovely hotel, best all inclusive I have ever been too. The food is varied and the al a carte oriental was superb. The drinks were all good standard and with waiters on hand easy to relax and enjoy the entertainment. The staff are really excellent. Well done and thank you for a lovely holiday. Lovely hotel, nice position with own beach and beautiful scenery . Great animation team especially Andrey who was very friendly and yet professional, he looked after us very well. We played boccia, darts, and other team games. Many other activities available. There are 4 outdoor pools (not heated) 1 indoor pool in spa, great water park (if you like that kind if thing !) No rush for sunbeds, can always find a good spot somewhere. We tried a different location every day ! Spent 2 weeks here not with children. Very family orientated hotel. We had a family room with sliding door, so like 2 rooms was very nice but although we could see the sea we looked out onto roof tops and lots of noisy air conditioning units 134 . The sofa beds were not comfortable so we split the single beds and put one in each room... perfect. Food pretty good, good choice even after 2 weeks. 2 restaurants available for breakfast and lunch. 5 restaurants available in evening but you have the choice of booking one meal a week at 4 of them. Best to have things that were being cooked in front if you. Drinks were good. Some branded drinks. Bar staff by lower pool were very good. In evening had waiter service for drinks if wanted, very efficient. Entertainment ok but only for one hour. All staff very good, a credit to the hotel. Would recommend, although 2 hour good quality mini bus (Tui) from Chania airport. Great hotel would bring family and grandchild next time...... TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
